A teacher of mine had a theory that people with left handedness were either really gifted or very err... ungifted.

so i pose to you this question, is there a higher rate of left handedness amoung people with ASD?

left handed me.
I think people with ASDs would have more right handed people because they're most likely left brained because they're logical and all that

I am right handed. I write with my right hand, but I have noticed that with other things I sometimes use my left hand. For example, when I shave, I often use my left hand. And when I build models I often rely a lot on my left hand. But overall, I am right handed.

I'm mostly left handed but there are a few things I do with my right, such as using scissors and a mouse.

My handedness is a secret (that's what polls are for!), but I've read up on this in the past, for some reason or other. There is a correlation between either left handedness or mixed handedness (can't remember which) and various other stuff, but it's correlation, not causation. I think giftedness and autism are both among the various other stuff. Homosexualilty, too, I think.

Stanley Coren wrote a pretty good book on left handedness - can't remember the name. But he's a good writer. He's the prof at UBC who does research on dog psychology.

My handed-ness is a secret to me mostly.

That's one people react freaked out to.

I assume that is because handedness is something most people think you know naturally.

Raised to use my right-hands because of no preference but can do each task that does not need to be learnt as well with my left hand and take as long with my left hand to learn these tasks as with my right hand.

I also write wonderfully with my left hand and a left-hand pen.

I now prefer that, because my writing is nicer and better looking to me, though unreadable to others (whereas my writing with my right hand is liked by others and easy to read for them, but unreadable to me).

Congratulations on your ambidexterity Sora. Well, maybe not congratulations, but anyway.
I used to bend sinister when doing things like shuffling cards and so on, but that was only because when I was watching other people do it, I hadn't really translated it that well: got a pretty strong preference to the right.
