Music...since I was at least 3. No need to go into that too much.

As of yesterday Star Wars. I finally watched it because the drama teacher at my school is obsessed and talks incessantly about it. I got curious. OMFG it IS awesome!! !

I guess I will talk about music...The Vines. I am obsessed with The Vines. And Craig.(singer)

Amusement parks....roller coasters.

Dinosaurs. Later became a fixation with Jurassic Park.

I think I may be obsessed with Asperger's. Is that bad? I am not diagnosed. What if I don't have it at all. Should you be obsessed with something that you do not possess??? I have the vast majority of symptoms but you never know! I could just be...crazy. It is possible.

Pokemon....since the 3rd grade. So many cards....so many games...so little time.

Can you be obsessed with pants that have chains? How bout socks....can you be obsessed with socks???

What about objects that light up and/or spin? I have many and stare at them for HOURS at a time...that's just odd, right?

ummm....that's all I think.

Posted in the wrong place....now what?

There's totally nothing wrong with your obsessions. In fact, the fascination with spinning/flashing things seems to be quite common among people on the spectrum.

As for me, well, let's see... around age 3 or 4 I was obsessed with dinosaurs.

Then at age 5 I was obsessed with the animated movie Balto, which then lead to an obsession with wolves.

I've been obsessed with anime since age 11, though the series I enjoy change every couple of years:

Age 11-13: Inuyasha, Rurouni Kenshin
Age 14-15: Naruto, One Piece
Age 16-present: Hellsing, Trinity Blood

I have no idea why I obsess over two at a time, but that's just the way it is.

I've also had a lifelong fascination with pregnancy and childbirth. It's quite a beautiful and awe-inspiring process, and I don't find the birth part gross at all.

:D You jogged my memory. I was obsessed with Inu-yasha from 5th grade through 7th grade. I love Rurouni Kenshin...but it never comes on anymore. I am a Narutard(not so nice nickname) I am also obsessed with Death Note and Bleach.OH, right! Balto is the best! I am obsessed with wolves in general but my favorite are timber wolves!

maybe the viewpoint should be obsessions vs interests. If you ignore things in life just to indulge your interests...like eating or sleeping...you might be obsessed

if you want to know everything about something to the extent that you ignore learning other things because 'they're not important'....you might be obsessed

if people get a glazed look around you, or want to quickly change the subject if you bring up your interest....you might be obsessed

if you've ever had to climb a water tower in the middle of the night to defend your sisters' honor... you might be a redneck...;)

Inuyasha was the first anime I got obsessed with that didn't involve battling monsters of some kind, like Digimon and Pokemon. I was pretty obsessed with Rurouni Kenshin. I remember taking printed-out pictures of the characters with me when I went on a trip once, for comfort.

I loved Naruto a lot a couple years ago, though sadly I forced myself to stop when I noticed people were getting made fun of for being fans. Death Note and Bleach are good to watch, but my fear of losing my obsession with Hellsing and Trinity Blood prevents me from fully enjoying them.

It's awesome that you like wolves. My favorites are timber wolves, too. :)

One of my main obsessions is anime. Ever since first grade, I have loved the stuff (although I believed that was actually happening somewhere.) To this day, I wish the American writers would take a cue from the Japanese and make the characters more eccentric and diverse(Like L from Death Note, Headmaster Cross from Vampire Knight, Sir Integral from Hellsing).

I guess that's why it appeals to Aspies, anime characters are more relatable than characters like... Bella Swan from the novel Twilight.

I enjoyed Pokemon and Digimon because of the comedy. (Team Rocket was hilarious in the first few seasons and the facial expressions on the original Digidestned were priceless!)

Naruto was a big thing with me up until recently, when I discovered Evangelion (IMO, Gundam's better half). I liked the 4Kids version of One Piece. The show seemed to fit right in with the magical girls an' all that.

I've never watched Trinity Blood but I've watched Hellsing. The anime wasn't terrific but the OVAs were. Sir Integral is an inspiration to all! (And the way her relationship with Alucard is portrayed should be the way all vampire-human romances should be portrayed! Comradely, somewhat sexual, and deep.)

I've also read some chapters of the Tenjho Tenge Manga as well as read all of Vampire Knight (Which I'll never look at the same way again :pale: )

I don't particularly care for wolves, but at one time I did. I'm more of a cat person (and a people person, humans are so fascinating to watch.)

From about the age of 14 until fairly recently I was a huge Star Wars fan myself. I'm still a fan, but the obsession has run a bit dry as the movies ended and the novels have gone from up and down, to mostly down.

Big Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan too. Still love it and will pop in the DVDs every once in a while. Becoming: Part II remains my favorite episode of television ever produced.

I'm an animation fan, not an anime fan. It just so happens that Japan is the only country with a thriving animation industry at the moment (CGI does not count, it runs against the purpose of animation in the first place). American animation has a special place in my heart, particularly the pre-WWII Disney era. If I ever want to see something jaw-dropping, all I need to do is pop in Fantasia and marvel at Tytla's work in Night on Bald Mountain.

Currently, I mostly watch anime. Just finished up Princess Tutu, which was a very pleasant surprise. It's really not often that anime gets a perfect ending like that (since so many shows are based on ongoing manga). Other shows I greatly enjoyed include Haibane Renmei, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya, Azumanga Daioh, Kimagure Orange Road, and Ai Yori Aoshi. My tastes generally run towards lighter shows with female protaginists, but I enjoy male dominated series from time-to-time (Death Note being the obvious most recent edition).

I also love that most of these series are self-contained. In my own writing, before I became an anime fan, I toyed with the idea of series that would only run for a fixed number of episodes and have a definite beginning, middle, and end. Watching anime, it seems obvious that it's a superior way of handling most dramatic shows. I've noticed a few American programs have been playing with the format for their individual seasons with varying degrees of success (Buffy, 24, and Heroes).

I'm not a big fan of Japan's feature films. They are masters of limited animation. When they get a budget and try to be ambitious, their animators' shortcomings are much too obvious.

As noted above, I'm a writer, though I wish I were more obsessive about it. I've written a couple screenplays, but I sometimes go years without being able to put in the focus needed to work for months on end to perfect a story.

I've been toying with the idea that it might also have something to do with the exagerated body language and visual emotional cues inherent in the artform.

You could well be crazy. When i was diagnosed at 21 i had thought i was skitso for about 15 years and lived like a hermit, not knowing as many people as possible. It is possible to get obsessed with anything, and obsessing on what you may be is one way to reinforce what you may be, stop it man, its a downward spiral trust me, i did it for a bit by mistake and found it made me more pissed off, but now im ok, still AS obviously, but yeah, lifes s**t, its all good:)
