I will keep out the chaos and shield you from the love.
I bring comfort... and peace... and discontentment.
I will never ridicule you and never praise.
Rest in my arms... I will swallow you in my weariness.
I ask for nothing in return... only your life.
I am the enemy.
I am a trusted friend.
I am solitude.

i like this - very much!
it reminded me of W.H. Auden's "Lullaby", which sounds like the NT upbeat version of your poem, :wink: .

Thanks... I have been feeling down for the past couple of weeks and just needed some sort of outlet for my feelings :cry:
This was the only place that I felt people would understand my need to express myself in that way.
