Does anybody know if the main character David Mazouz who plays Jacob Bohm is supposed to be autistic?

The boy is described as a **mute boy who is obsessed with numbers and can predict future events**

In the pilot film (just watched it again), a social worker talks about that Jake is diagnosed with autism/is an autistic child.

The father also later searches for mutism/autism on the internet.

There's a sort of mistake during that scene though, he's shown searching something on the internet about his son, a website's description (that catches his interest) is shown to include the word "mutism". Next, he's shown for a couple of seconds again, then they change back to the computer screen on which suddenly the word "autism" has replaced mutism in the description.
