Silly Republicans.

I can't believe the harm that some of those in power are willing to cause just to fight against "the other side." Both sides do it way too often, but this time around the Republicans have gone off the deep end.

That would be interesting. Though it would take a year or two to reach the SC. If Ted Cruz and his kind are correct when they say that Americans won't want to give it up after it starts, I wonder what kind of fallout we'd see if the GOP was cheering and refusing to fix the language.

when ACA falls, the GOPTP are planning ways to prevent universal health care or any kind of health care reform from EVER happening again. as senator bob packwood said, "now that we've killed health care reform, we must make sure our fingerprints are not found on the corpse."

Congress will not fix any glitch in the ACA, as the Republicans will block any effort to. Normally, with any major legislation, there are glitches, but they are often repaired through legislation. Because of the steadfast opposition of Republicans, however, no repair of glitches in the ACA will be forthcoming.

If the ACA goes down because of this, then it will likely be at least another 10 years before we get universal health care in this country. By that time, with states like Texas going blue, it should become somewhat more feasible, with less backlash.

Well if they go by that reasoning, the individual mandate would still stand, but those in states that refused to set up state run exchanges would not receive subsidies. Gotta love the way politicians have no trouble harming millions to make a point.

The "free government money" stops after like 2 years and Medicaid is already bankrupting states. Adding hundreds of thousands to the Medicaid rolls isn't going to make it solvent. The Supreme Court threw out the medicaid expansion precisely because it was an unfunded mandate.

you are conveniently ignoring the fact that the continued coddling of the rich [permitting them to offshore all their work as well as avoid taxation] is the primary driver behind our debt problem. Eisenhower's 70% tax rates were not impoverishing wealthy folk, far from it.

It would only be 100% federally funded for 2 years. After that, they would only cover 90%. The Supreme Court threw it out as a state's rights issue.

Exactly.

The states that are refusing to participate are being led by spiteful fools. :?

spiteful fools who were voted in by people perfectly willing to cut off their collective noses to spite their faces, in the manner of spiteful fools themselves.

They will remain feeble minded. If we are going to support mental defectives I suggest that we not burden SS with that task.

Let us have MoronCare, exactly the kind of program that Liberals love.

Let Obama push thru the MCA (Moran Care Act).

And yeah...let's have empathy care for those with no empathy...

And nah..don't say empathy is for the weak..as IT IS the only reason 'you' exist....

That is from a scientific perspective..as empathy is the only thing that keeps social animals going..

No matter the advantage of collective intelligence..and or technological advancements....

That is the real risk to the country..the greater loss of empathy...

And OH GOD..the country has to legislate IT..as people simply will no longer take care of each others....

In a society bound by wires..instead of hearts...

And yeah..that's just a metaphor...

This ain't he 1920's no more...where extended families took care of the health care needs of the elderly...

This is the 21st century...a place where countries like Japan...have 'clean up' companies booming...

That clean the slime of the elderly similar to you..who have lost all their family connections...

Living 'online'..with no real connections....

So yeah..Obama is a savior like individual along with Nancy Pelosi...

Just putting the potential clean up crews in the US out of business....

And for those who think that social connections grow on online trees..

They are simply full of s**t..

That's all...

And yeah Ruevyn..know you got a nice big family..retirement and all OF THAT..

But IT is always a longer way down than up for those that live...

long enough...

And IT IS those who one stepped on the way down..that one will likely meet at the end...

Like the African American..welfare queens of past..

That will likely sooner or later be...

Changing one's bed pans...

And yeah...

Eventually if we all live long enough..

WE ARE ALL HEADED THAT WAY...

So best time knowNow to get used to the idea

of one's future likely masters...

One WiLL not likely be in charge of
anything at that point...

Nor would anyone else...

A good time for humility...
and charity for all..either government OR private...
IS ALWAYS NOW!

I THINK one KNOWs THAT

One JUST Does NOT GET THE GOVERNMENT PART....

As far as I see..

As one and everyone else relies on welfare from the government if one lives in the US...

The roads..are not ones..one's built....

And without them there are usually no groceries..

Or even

Free medicare rides...

To

The Hospital...

Talk of empathy has no place in Republican/tea party circles, as they worship the selfishness of Ayn Rand.
