But seriously..none of us are making fun of the real historical Jesus..

Cause the modern Christianity version is just a myth that blurs the lines of what the real historical man stood for..

So..in effect..we are all making fun of the anti-christ..

You know..that dude that some so called anti-christ christians make up to justify their attempts at personally judging homosexuals as not human enough to get married and all of that...making fun of other love religions and stuff like that....

Even 'God' wouldn't do that..and 'she' kinda has the power..if 'he' wanted to..i guess..

Not exactly sure how that works...

That Karma thang..ya know..now....

But anyway..happy New Year..

I guess.....

Hopefully no dog was harmed in making the picture.

Actually its all quite simple, you can't prove or disprove that god exists.

So it is all a matter of opinion.

So if religious nuts can express an opinion, why can't I. Can I help it if they can't tolerate any opinion that is not the same as theirs.

Mind you, the current theory of evolution and the evidence supporting it, don't seem to need the concept of god, and it explains the facts much better than god creating the universe in 7 days.

Cheers

I understand why people can become anti-religious -- especially anti-Christian. My personal hope is simply for mutual respect.

Believe it or not some of us with deep belief (such as myself) became Christian (in my case Catholic) later in life, and did so due to reason, much study, and deep reflection, and not because it was the religion of our birth or foisted upon us in any way. In my own case, I understand Christianity as the most reasonable and logical of all religions.

At minimum, let me put it this way: I desire is that atheists respect Christians and Christianity, and that Christians respect atheists and atheism.

So it's easiest for you to understand why people become anti-Christian as opposed to other religions... but you believe Christianity to be the most reasonable and logical of all religions?

I think that's super interesting. Do you want to go more in depth?

If Christianity's pure fiction, then what incentive did the New Testament authors have for inventing it?

To provide propaganda that would keep the Patriarchy in power, promote slavery, keep women subjugated (and thus maintain the patriarchy), and to justify conquest of foreigners and indigenous peoples by genocide.

These were the principles of America's Founding Fathers.

Here's a little fact for you. Jewish and Christian women in judea during the time of Jesus of nazzerith enjoyed a greater equality than women in pagan roman society. Here's another: the anti-slavery movement was created by religious people. Slavery was created for secular reasons and the defenders of it readily used secular permissivist ideology as a defence for it.

Okay. What do you think Buddha's incentive was?

Fair question, bad example. Buddhism is not really comparable to the claims made by monotheism and is rather more philosophical. One of the things that frustrates me when discussing religion with atheism is the myopic view that they make a, more or less, interchangeable set of claims. Such a view is pretty common among communities of atheists that have really only ever encountered monotheism of the Abrahamic strain.

Alright that makes sense :D

The buddha's goal for creating buddhism was to create a method for escaping the unhappiness and suffering of the physical world.

Yup..that thing that REAL HISTORICAL Jesus.. the reported Buddhist Monk..by the BBC documentary spoke of per...

that old new testament saying...

"The Kingdom of Heaven IS NOW"

It
s simply BLISS to escape the illusion of culture..that most definitely can make life a literal human abyss..that does equate quite well to human hell..

But most unlike that place of the Heaven in NOW..that IS POSSIBLE THAT .. THAT REAL HISTORIC DUDE...JESUS.. AND OTHERS LIKE HIM NOW...

WASARE SPEAKING OF

AND YAH..

ALL THE TRUE BUDDHAS THAT HAVE EXISTED TOO..

AS WELL AS ALL THE TRUE CHRISTS THAT HAVE EXISTED..AND DO EXIST..ALL OVER THE WORLD...

NOW..LIVING IN BLISS..THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN..NOW SIMPLY NIRVANA...

IS WH@IS
CAN
BE
IS
S iMPLYNOW
