God could just mean the mystery of creation you know? Not necessarily what you see in religion unless it's more Native American, maybe, before Europeans introduced Christianity. Just the idea that creation happens is like a conscious God force of some kind. That's more a pagan approach. It's just mysterious and disturbing creation ever occurred. And highly unlikely. It's just there for humans to contemplate and think about and observe as best they can be glad they can somewhat do that. It's rare in the universe compared to everything else that exists. For now, we are the only ones, that we know of, who can even consider the possibility of a God force, even if we are mistaken.

Humans definitely find it mysterious and it is human nature to speculate on such things. Ultimately, I think science will show that rather than being highly unlikely, the formation of the universe was inevitable based upon simple mathematical principles. I can picture in my mind quite clearly how the universe may have come into existence and evolved to what it is today and I suspect my hunch will one day be shown to be correct. Unfortunately I lack the necessary advanced mathematical skills to express the principles I see so clearly within my mind. I'd love to be able to write down the mathematical formula upon which the universe is formed.

It ain't the structure OR FORM.. that is important...

It is how things are put together that is impressive...

Are you thinking that if you redefine God as atheism, christians will eventually get confused, and become atheists?

I'm not an atheist but you probably were peaking of someone else.

But if God is real, he is the one who made the universe a never ending loop.

Well here's the thing Stannis..i see GOD as the all encompassing power and force that exists everywhere..

And when i connect to it..i am GOD..

i am in that metaphorical place called hell..

other folks view as miracles..IN REAL LIFE..

Doesn't there have to be a cause before an effect?Im a real dunce at math,so -1 to me is "before" the effect,so wouldn't there be a whole line of" stuff" (sorry,I'm really dumb at this)before the Big Bang?You can't get something out of nothing.

What if there isn't a cause and effect. It's just forever and endless and we only think there's a cause and effect when it's just eternal? In that way it could be considered godlike.

You can, banks do it all the time! You've got no money (zero); they give you a loan of $10. You now have gone from zero to having money in your pocket and a debt at the bank.

Maths and physics do similar things. Virtual particles spring out of nothingness then disappear again unless something grabs one of them.

I don't see how a god has anything to do with it.They spend their time stirring up trouble between mortals,I think they are bored.Don't act happy or they may notice you.

We don't really know that we are dealing with an initial nothing. Our visible universe can be just one bubble of a larger universe so the origin event isn't what we detect. Maybe there never was an origin. Or maybe there are sequential universes, each forming from the virtual particles mentioned above. And maybe the visible universe (currently ~92 billion LY across), or a larger unseen universe, is like a self contained globe as mentioned earlier. To paraphrase Stephen Hawking, "What is south of the south pole?"

Christians generally want to argue that the visible universe is the one and only universe. Non believers tend to prefer multiple universes. The recent evidence for inflation, if it holds up, suggests we may have a multiverse. With multiple universes you get multiple throws of the dice to generate the right universe for our kind of life. Otherwise this universe is awfully convenient for us. The argument comes down to the Fine Tuning Argument versus the Anthropic Principle. There are a few physicists who argue that we've already detected the evidence for other universes bumping into our own. They are waiting for the next round of data from the Planck spacecraft to see if more evidence is present.

There seems to be many possibilities.

But how can nothing spring out of something?How do we know it's nothingness?They have to be springing out of somewhere,like grass hoppers.There's none,then there's way too many.
