I dislike the Tories so much it's almost worth seeing the dismemberment of my nation to see them lose.

Of course, they could not have formed a government without the treachery of Clegg, so the whole thing is well past ridiculous.

Maybe starting over will be better for everyone.

But the whole thing is making me sad.

Edited to add: Mine is a divided house. My wife is in the "Yes" camp, and she is usually right when we disagree.

This just in ...

"The Yes camp has announced that they have likely won Glasgow by 54 percent to 46. While this is a victory, the SNP relied on a bigger majority in key urban areas (with many suggesting at least a 57 threshold to secure overall majority) and the atmosphere in the Yes camp appears subdued."

Hmmmmmmm .....

Was Glasgow thought to be a bigger Yes vote than Edinburgh?

It's on a knife edge. No one can predict how it will go, really. This is a unique situation, so impossible to tell. All we do know is that it will be close. Turnouts are higher than I've ever seen before. Highest since 1951 apparently.

Of the 7 areas out of 32 which have declared so far, only one - Dundee has been a Yes with 57%

Overall, it's running at Yes - 49% and No - 51%.

Currently 44% for Yes and 56% for No.

Still to hear from Glasgow and Edinburgh and some of the other larger local authority areas.

When exactly will we know the results by? I don't pay much attention to the news but this fascinates me, seeing as Scotland has been a part of the UK forever from what I've see.

47% No 53% Yes

Actual votes never match polling exactly because they don't account for those voters who truly believe and desire to vote, and then, find that they can't or don't want to stand in the lines, miss their TV shows or ignore going to the pub instead.
Not voting because they don't want to watch their TV show or to go to the pub doesn't sound like anyone who has much desire to vote at all.

I believe that they had the opportunity to vote by mail instead. They could have voted and watched tv.
