The frustration is maddening.

This reminds me of a time when the springs in my rocking chair broke, and I was unable to rock.

THAT FREAKING SUCKED. I ordered new springs from La-Z-Boy, but they kept botching the order, and delay, delay, delay... Every day I'd sit and wait for the mail; and every day the new springs didn't come, I grew more upset. After the springs were 4 days overdue, I actually called the service center (I'd been e-mailing them - I HATE phones) to try to get things sorted out, and ended up really yelling at whoever I was talking to. I mean
really yelling at her; she must have thought I was a crazy a**hole or something, even though I tried to explain. Sadly, at the time I was unfamiliar with AS, and didn't even know the word "stim"; imagine trying to express the need to stim in a vacuum.

But the feeling of not being able to get my normal stimming in... I swear to the gods it was getting to feel like I had freaking ants crawling all over me; I couldn't sit still, I couldn't concentrate, I was very, very irritable.
My condolences to you, Speedy. I wish you a speedy recovery for your stimming hand, and celeritous discovery of a reasonable replacement stim in the meantime.
Good fortune,
- Don't get between Icarus and his rocker...
