That's too bad shopaholic, would have been good to meet you. I'm make sure to let you know next time.

It was just one of those things. Normally I'd still have been in the office when the confirmation post went up on the thread, but we had to go to the police station to report the death threat & then I had to be escorted to the train station.

It was a complete nuisance, especially as nothing ever came of it & the police weren't even interested anyway.

Hopefully nothing will go wrong next time! I figured it was about time I got to know people of my own kind instead of being in denial of who I am.

No need for denial. :P How about you organise the next one? :D I can help out if you like.

Aaargh!! ! I am c**p at organising stuff! Especially for people I don't know at places I don't know!

If I organised it, we'd all meet up in the basement of Forbidden Planet.....

(Actually, I wonder if I've already seen some of you in there? :-))

Thanks for the offer of help though. But since I'm still pretty much a newbie I don't think it's my place to be organising anything yet. I'm not even properly diagnosed, though I'm pretty sure I am an aspie - all the quizzes, all the stuff I post about, the fact that in my childhood I can't think of any other kids at school who were more "aspie" than I was.....

As I See It - 29th - 4th Nov
"a unique new exhibition exploring how people with autism view the world, opens in London this week.

It features a series of portraits by photographer Robin Hammond of ten people with autism from around the UK. Alongside Robin's portraits are photographs taken by the subjects themselves; each of them affected by autism in different ways. Together they provide a fascinating insight into the wide range of experiences of people living with autism. "

Entrance is free of charge and the exhibition is open from 10am-6pm, Monday-Saturday, and from 10am-5pm on Sunday).

Thanks to Dyspergian for mentioning it. As you can see it only runs till the 4th so if you’re thinking of going you might want to post on here to see if you could meet up with fellow ASD(s)

After this the exhibition is going on a road tour so those not in London should have an opportunity to see it also.

I'm free on sat or sun if anyone wants to meet up. :)

Definitely recommend going to see it. Today is the last day in London before it goes on the road.

Well, Science/Natural History Museum sounds good because it is near Hyde Park too, so plenty of choice of what to do :D

Hope to see you there! It's much more vibrant than other aspie groups I've been to, mainly because it's not just for aspies.

I live in Uxbridge myself so anywhere in west London is good for a WP meetup.

Graelwyn suggested the 25th, I can make that.

I might go to Danda some time but I prefer the more informal meets on the whole.

Probably a long shot by would anyone be interested in going to see the free Shepard Fairey exhibition 'NINETEENEIGHTYFOURIA' in brick lane?

It closes 3 days early on the 22nd, so you need to go between now and end of Wednesday or end of Thursday, I find end dates confusing, so its something like that.

I get what you mean now, the 25th and the exhibition are unrelated. Maybe I should have made a separate post.

Can do 25th or 2nd, but not 9th.

Can't do a Tuesday evening at the moment unfortunately because it is still termtime for my dancing, but could do one if it fell in holidays. Shame as this sounds good, as long as venue is not too noisy & crowded.
