Why should I convert to Judaism?

Hello there,

Though I'm neither Muslim nor Jewish, I too have been interested in conversion to Judaism.

It's necessary that you find the answer to that question yourself, as conversion would be your personal choice.

If you do find that Judaism is definitely something that you want to look into, then I suggest you do some research; read books about it (I recommend in particular the books, 'To Be A Jew' by Rabbi Hayim Donin, the book 'How To Become Jewish (And Why Not To)' by Daniel Greenberg and 'Judaism For Dummies'.

Also, talk to your local Orthodox Rabbi; you could find them in either a synagogue or in a Local Chabad house, however you could contact one via Chabad.org and ask them question about Judaism.

I don't know why anyone would want to convert to Judaism. Judaism is just an ideology of racial supremacism, as the Old Testament clearly reveals. Jews mask that fact by pretending Judaism is open to converts, while they erect barriers to conversion and treat actual converts with disdain.

Of course Islam is much like Judaism in being an ideology promising world domination for its followers, but unlike Judaism it is at least open to anyone who wants to join.

One ironic thing about Judaism's obsession with racial purity is that modern-day Palestinian Arabs are probably genetically closer to the Israelites of the Old Testament than are many of the people who today call themselves "Jews".

Only convert if you've got full understanding of Judaism.

It could take a few years to convert, since you have to practice for a year, and if the rabbi doesn't like how you're doing it, you have to continue for another year.

There are people like me who desperately want to convert, but there just isn't a place to where we live. If I want to convert, I'll have to go to America...

And plus, it's pretty hard to leave a religion. You'd look silly if you joined and then just left. You might regret it later on, of course.

Judaismabd Islam are extremely similar; Judaism is closer to Islam than to Christianity because the latter has abolished the old religious laws.

Judaism is a pretty good deal. If you were basing the choice on risk assessment you are better off going with it over Islam or Christianity. The reason being the lack of eternal punishment. A brief purgatory period is the general view whereas the general view in Christianity and Islam is the pit or lake of fire for an eternity or at least a very long period. You need to have a very high opinion of yourself, or be delusional about your virtuous nature or capacity for faith, to take on the risk of eternal punishment for finite sins that you may not anticipate committing.

Of course if you were rational, well... never mind.

I'm an atheist Jew. I can't think of any good reason to convert. It's basically just like Islam anyway, Islam is a copy, with a few changes.

You say that like it's a bad thing, when it's the whole point.

Not enough to matter. It still makes a virtue of faith.

Please tell me you're joking. Judaism is an incredibly diverse religion, and is informed by much more than the Tanakh. They make it difficult because they want to make sure that conversion is sincere, and once conversion has taken place it's common practice for the convert to be referred to not as a convert, but simply as a Jew.

yes because I am sure every muslim follows every single little regulation within the religion...there aren't any who question any of the rules, or even disobey some that don't make sense who still consider themselves muslims that's obviously impossible

Sure. There are THOSE, but the Koran considers them hypocrites to be destroyed with the infidels they peacefully coexist with.

If you are emmigrating from a Muslim country to he USA - why not?

You'll have the same dietary laws. But you would be able to fit in to American society better.

Basically it would be the same religion with less stigma than Islam in the host country ( in general Americans are more Islamaphobic than they are antisemetic).

Ofcourse you would have to do without an afterlife. If that matters to you than you might wanna either stick with Islam, or convert to Christianity.

Halal is not necessarily Kosher. Kosher has a fair bit more to it too it, such as not mixing milk products with meat.

Much of the ritual purity law in Islam as similar in Judaism, but more complex still.

Islam is basically a rehash of the Old Testament, with a Mohammed's life, and a rehash of the Book of Revelations, with an afterthought of Christianity, with several glaring inaccuracies about what Christians believe, such as Mary being part of the trinity and daughter of Amram (who was supposed to have existed around 1500 years before, in other word they confused her with Miriam sister of Moses).

That's not such a glaring inaccuracy.

That would make it a "quadrinity". That alone is rather 'glaring'.

Can't have four entities in a "trinity" now can we?
