I have a good friend who is definitely an aspie whether he knows it or not and he's black = ).

He's even more analytical and nerdy than my other aspie white friends, he is hilarious.

Also how can someone from London be "African-American"?

I went to school with some black aspies, as well as Asian and mixed race. I just guess the prevelance is higher in whites as our school was 1/3 ethnic minority and there were only about 2 or 3 black people in the unit I remember during the time I was at school.

Our species, homo sapien sapien is one of the least biological diverse of the mammalian species. Any two members of our species of opposite genders and having working reproductive plumbing are capable of breeding.

AS prevelance is 5-10 times lower in people of African descent. This is not only something people think they have observed, it is a reality. These results have now been replicated in 15 different versions of Aspie-quiz, and interest rates are always in the 1-3% range for African Americans living in the US (it should be 12%). Since participation ratios between Aspies and NTs is still 1:2 in the last versions, having suspicions about having AS is the primary driver for doing Aspie-quiz.

The average attitude and homogeneity of blacks might cloud parts of the quiz though. So who is really to say? There ARE other things that weigh into interest and relationships.

You want to put this question on the Politics, Philosophy and Religion board. I suspect you'll get at least a few vocal advocates for autism being purely restricted to white people. :roll:

That's true of any species. By definition, when two creatures of opposite genders can mate and produce viable offspring, they are of the same species. If it were, say, a saint Bernard (um, is that supposed to be capitalized? Spellcheck wouldn't accept it uncapitalized, but I didn't think dog breed names were proper nouns.. am I an idiot?) and a teacup chihuahua, the mechanics may fail.. but the genetics would be compatible.

There are obviously black, autistic people. That is an undeniable fact. The question one should ask is instead if there are more autistic blacks than general white admixture in blacks. Some people claim African American have about 10% white admixture. Such a rate is consistent with no natural autistic traits in unmixed Africans.
