|Forum Guidelines – Women’s Discussion
1) The rules.
As with all Wrong Planet forums, all members posting in threads on this forum are bound by the Wrong Planet Terms of Service, as stated here: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt12459.html
2) Involvement of male members.
While Wrong Planet rules do not prohibit posting by men in the Women’s Discussion, men who venture into this forum need to approach any reading or posting they do with an element of respect for the fact that they have just walked in on a conversation that should have little to do with them. This forum is intended to be more friendly to women, and to focus on issues unique to them.
3) Threads that say, "Women Only."
Members wishing to create threads for a restricted audience need to understand that it is not practical to prohibit members outside of the target group from reading or posting in the thread. Non-target members that enter the thread, however, are asked to treat the request - and the goals of the thread - with sensitivity and respect. Restricted threads should only be made if a poster feels there is a compelling reason to do so, and members tempted to post in violation of the request should only do so if they strongly feel they have positive, insightful information to contribute. Non-target posts that do not contribute valuable discussion may be removed at the discretion of a moderator.
4) Violating the goals of the forum.
Postings designed to mock or derail discussions of women’s issues or women’s interests on this board generally violate the Wrong Planet Terms of Service and will be removed. If this occurs, please contact an active moderator as listed here: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt132621.html
5) Why isn't there a men's forum?
Many members have asked why women have a focused forum at the Wrong Planet but men do not. The short answer is that a Men's forum was once attempted, and it simply did not generate the interest that the Women's forum has held. As an alternative, there is a Men's issues thread available here: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt101191.html (Note: this thread is included in an Adult forum, so members under 18 do not have access)
Mom to an amazing AS boy (plus a non-AS daughter). Have at least a few AS genes myself, although probably more NT than AS.
Think of the greening of my name as an emeritus thing; I used to be a moderator but am retired and have no authority to act
