Seredyn - quick acting for anxiety

Amoryn - non additive, long term anti depressant.

Both are fine to take together, if you're really struggling as Amoryn works better the longer you take it.

My GP can only off me Zoloft, or any other anti I pick! and I'm really against taking it. I want to stop the Xanax as it's becoming additive. I have had bad reactions to antis in the past so that is why I am against them. I'm sure they help a lot of people.

So I'm looking to try something natural. I do have 5HTP but I'm yet to really give it a proper go. I will now that my GP won't have a bar of anything BUT "popular" antis.

I have found 5-HTP to work pretty well as an anti-depressant. Apparently there is clinical proof that it works, and as I say, it's worked for me.

Do you take Seredyn? Does it work? I haven't heard of that before.

Only tried 5-HTP so far. I found you had to take it on a empty stomach for it to work, I eat to calm myself so I'm thinking maybe I need to take it first thing when I wake up and hope I don't pass out at work!

I started googling about natural alternatives today after my GP was no help.

Thanks for your input Fragmented, hope others have tried Seredyn and Amoryn as it seems to be avail in the US/Canada. I'd need to get it from NZ.

I’m much more willing to try natural remedies than conventional medicine and I’ve never heard of either of those before. So out of curiosity I went into two different health food shops and asked but neither of them sold it. Where do you get yours from? i.e. A herbalist, online, natural heath shop, Chinese medicine shop? And are Seredyn and Amoryn the actual ingredient/herb or a brand/medicine name?

I’ve tried Rhodiola Rosea before but only noticed side effects of rosy cheeks and tingly fingertips that felt like they could burst. (It’s quite common for me to experience odd side effects which aren’t always listed and none of the intended benefits.) And I am still trying to find some 5 HTP that is both vegetarian and a shape and size that isn’t tricky and uncomfortable to swallow every day to try.

I prefer real medicines - ones that have a known potency per dose, and that have greater purity than any natural treatment could possibly have.

I have tried quite a few of herbal medicines, but none that you mention. Valerian and skullcap do nothing to decrease my anxiety or help me sleep. Omega 3s seem to help a little. I'm going to try taking more magnesium. Turmeric sometimes makes my head feel clearer. There an awful lot of herbal meds that say they can help with anxiety and depression, but most you are not supposed to take when you're taking an SSRI medication/antidepressant, so I haven't tried them. 5 HTP and GABA I've heard good things about.
