Before I start talking about ASMR, I'm going to quickly sumit up;
Bassically, some people experience a small buzzing sensation which some find pleasurable in their head, spine ad neck web exposed to satisfying sounds such as soft talking, ad the sound of pencil on paper. Nobody knows that much about it as of yet.

Okay, so in recent years more and more people are watching these 'Whispering vdeos' or ASMR enduring sounds on YouTube, and I have found myself responding to soft talking and conversations in foreign languages such as Russian to trigger the feeling of a 'head tingling', or as it has actually been defined, ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response)

I have also found that when I think of a certain episode of a tv show at random, and I would experience the tingling, and then only the next day that exact episode is on tv! It's almost like a psychic experience of it in a way... And it has happened on multiple occasions.

Although I have posted this in the random section, I was wondering if anyone else on this forum experiences these tingling sensations as I am trying to see if anyone on the autistic spectrum (I myself having Aspergers) experiences ASMR.

Thanks for any responses! :)

I think I have experienced this. I just thought either I was a bit strange or everyone felt it. :? Sometimes when I've been watching someone else writing I have had it. Also listening to softly spoken people like you mentioned. I'm trying to think if there have been any other times... I might read some more about it now I know it has a name, so thanks for the post. :)

If you enjoy this sensation (Some people hate the feeling, whereas I love it) You could look up ASMR trigger videos on youtube, I know for a fact there are plenty writing videos :)

What is the big deal with having a tingling in your head? Are you saying its like astral projection or something like that?

I wouldn't say that at all, its like the brain's positive response to these stimuli, for example whispering or the sound of scrunching of paper, ity varies from person to person. It doesn't happen to everyone is what you have to bear in mind. Try googling ASMR and see what you can find out as I am really as stumped as you :)

Ehh I think it would be more fun to sneak some alcohol (not saying you should, you are only 16), or to hypnotize myself.

Hahaha, I can see what your saying but the difference is that ASMR isnt originally self induced, someone could be in class in school and then fall asleep due to the sound of the one next to them writing (It causes severe drowsiness in some, including myself) :D

This is probably pretty rare circumstance that I am about to say. There was one person I know that if he was told to sleeeeep in a "hypnotic voice" he would just conk out. If he was told this while standing he would literally collaspe. That only happened one time and I luckily caught him with my forearm. Wasn't self induced and he wasn't expecting it.

That obviously is a very severe case, and like I said it doesn't have to be self induced, using what you've said as an example of course he must respond to that tone of voice or maybe even the word itself. Behaviour experts are very unsure of what to make of ASMR :?:
Or perhaps this man who says the word sleeeep is someone like Dereen Brown? Or does it happen when anyone says it?

The hypnotst who said it was just another college student. if "John" was hypnotized recently then it would work if anyone said it. Other wise just the hypnotist and my old roommate (who also had learned how to hypnotize). both of them had just learned through the internet.

edit: if he was tired then he would just fall asleep and go into rem sleep even. He fell asleep 3 times within 20 minutes when it was after 2, one time while leaning against a poll.

That is remarkable really, thanks for sharing that! :)

When he was hypnotized he was like a zombie. While I just seem more open, but it isn't to noticable (some people say that if they look in my eyes then I look high). John would do almost anything you told him. He flipped a table onto its side because he thought he was getting shot at. After ward we had him try to flip it and he was not able to, he isn't very strong.

If you think AMSR you would probably be interested in looking into self hypnotism. I mainly just use it so I dream and remember them better.

Hmm I'm not to sure about self hypnotism, I'd say I'm a bit of a sceptic about thOsw sort of things and I always imagine myself putting myself in some kind of weird trance that I can't undo! Crazy right but thats just me I'm scared of everything haha. That's why I'm quite pleased about ASMR, it's kind of more controlled. It's almost like a 'high' when on drugs (not that I have encountered drugs yet haha) but that's the best way I can describe it.
And this zombie friend of yours, have doctors had anything to say about what happens to him?
