So, I've decided to create two additional polls in the 'severity' series. I got a little sidetracked after creating the other polls, but I will look at the poll results and responses and see if there are any interesting or noteworthy correlations.

Anyway, this poll is related to IQ and if/how it effects severity of AS symptoms. This poll will utilize the Wechsler Classification (WAIS), as it is the scale I am familiar with. If you've been tested using the Terman Classification, please feel free to select the classification that matches the closest.

I am aware that, technically, no one with an AS diagnosis should have a below average IQ (according to diagnostic criteria), but I have included those options, just in case. 'Extremely Low' IQ was left out as there were too many options, and it's unlikely anyone that would have an AS diagnosis would have an IQ in that range.

For the sake of this poll, I'll be using the non-clinical terms of Mild, Moderate and Severe to describe severity of one's symptoms. These terms will mean the following:

Mild: you could or do live on your own with little or no assistance.
Moderate: you could or do live on your own, but with daily or weekly assistance.
Severe: you could not live on your own.

Thanks for participating! Results should be interesting.

My IQ was last tested in the 120's range when I last took it and that was in 6th grade. Also I am mild.

Since my IQ test five years ago I've increased in knowledge. So I chose I a below 120 IQ. I chose moderate AS as I do live with family members and am partly dependent on them.

I picked '120-129 (Superior), with mild AS'.

Huh, it's striking how many 'very superior' IQs are there... I always knew I'm inferior to many here, no doubt. :P

It's interesting, though, that in the surveys and scientific papers I see mostly much lower IQs with regards to ASD children and adults (AD, AS and -NOS).

My IQ is in my Sig below.

I chose Moderate over mild simply because that is what I was told I have... Not sure if I fit into your exact version of it though, although I am pretty close.

I've never taken a full test so I made an estimate. I chose High Average, Mild AS. Though the mild AS part isn't guessed.

I have never had a proper IQ test and my scores on on-line tests tend to vary wildly, from 85 on one to 140 on another. I have fairly high intelligence and most of the on-line test results were 120+ so I'll go with superior, mild AS.

IQ of 167. I also selected moderate AS, as I consider my wife required support when it comes to day-to-day functionality.

According to the test I did a few years ago, my IQ is impossible to work out.

I've scored everything from 128 to 139, depending on the test/scale and daily condition. I chose superior/moderate, to give my lower scores the benefit of the doubt (if that makes any sense).

I'm mild, but can't vote, because I've never had a proper IQ test done and I don't trust the online ones. I'd guess High Average or Superior, though.

this quiz does not mean all that much, people are more willing to post/answer the poll if they have a high iq

The poll itself is anonymous, though. They don't have to post their IQ.

Some of the quoted IQs may be inaccurate, unintentionally or intentionally.

I voted moderate AS.

When I first became aware I have Asperger's, I believed that I had the 'mild' form.

But as a WP friend was often fond of saying, there is NOTHING remotely mild about Autism and in my case he was correct.

I seem to appear 'mild' to most, perhaps ALL NTz who know I have Asperger's, (probably helped along by my IQ) but it doesn't feel mild at all. Social interaction for me is just a never ending, elaborate costume party that is as difficult to grasp (or even value) as Quantum mechanics is to most people!
