I feel sorry for the people that are dealing with that!

Unreal. And five fatalities so far, including an infant

Oklahoma has always been in danger of tornados. There is an entire corridor of states which will be struck with tornados and there not a thing anyone can do about it, except get down into a storm cellar or a safe-room until the tornado blows over.

Oakies are tornado savvy. My neighbor's son was working near Moore and as they were driving they noticed people bailing out of their homes with sacks of stuff and climbing into cellars. When Oakies go to ground you better also. They rode the storm out in a gas station, they thought the roof was going to come off.
What was left of the last two storms went over here,we were lucky. The power was only out six hours or so.But the last storm had the worst lightning I have ever seen.We had trees down, but luckily no tornados.

the areas that get hit with the most tornados should just have their entire house be underground! that would be pretty cool.

The El Reno tornado is now on the records as the widest and most powerful winds 290 miles per hour and 2.6 miles wide.

The 1999 tornado that first wrecked Moore had winds of 350 mph. It was a full bore EF-5, the Wrath of God.

This beats every world wind record except the more-than 300-mph reading measured during the Moore, Okla., tornado in 1999, according to AccuWeather meteorologist Jesse Ferrell.

My grandmother lives in Eufala, Oklahoma. She's OK, the tornadoes hit far away from where she lives.
