Gil Voigt (a white male) from Fairfield Freshman School, a science teacher was fired two days ago for ...

-In 2013 a black student who said he wanted to become president claimed the teacher told him the nation didn't need another black commander in chief
-In 2012, Voigt was accused of calling a student stupid and implying that he and some of his classmates were gay.
-In 2008, he trained his laser pointer at a black student and said he looked like "an African-American Rudolph."

This makes me wonder what kind of "science" he taught his students.

The article states that the teacher said some of his students were colluding against him. That's possible. Much of what is said in class can be entirely appropriate in the context of the lesson, yet appear to be inappropriate when quoted out of context.

I have heard special ed teachers (of all people) make comments that were far more offensive than those when I was attending the Tacoma School District. The standards for teaching in public schools are ridiculously low in the United States.
