I'm previous member of a much different forum, and actually at this moment I'm still the highest poster there with over 50,000... But, I no longer felt welcome there so I've decided to move here... Said previous forum had some small percent of autistic people posting, but it was much like the ratio of your typical town, nothing worth of note.

...So I figured I'd better move over here where people are more like me.

Autism also, for a little while in the past, was my intended profession, to research it and what not. I still have good amount of experience babysitting and schooling more severe autistic children/teens, but I've discovered through community college courses that i can't stand psychology and its ambiguity. I like hard sciences more. I still watch an autistic child and that is my main "job" / source of income, but now my intended profession has changed to computer science (what a surprise, right?)

So, you guys are going to have to deal with me until I'm banned.. (okay, don't worry, I'm not that bad ;) )

You must be a trip.....but quite possibly an enjoyable diversion.

Welcome to the Forum.

Not that it matters: but how do you fit on the Autistic Spectrum?

Welcome to WrongPlanet!

What sort of things do you look into in Computer Science? I've never understood the subject's parameters. (Just a summary please, I'm not particularly science savvy!)

bolded: well, you'll find out I guess

undiagnosed aspergers by child developmentalist mom (to keep it brief). She didn't tell me until jr. high when I was placed into special education services, up until then I was playing the normal field as an outcast.

In more recent years it's remained undiagnosed by me because I've had just about enough of people analyzing me, and I'm not mentally disturbed enough to need a psychiatrist, I have a smart supportive mom (I've hardly ever expressed that to her though) and now a pretty good understanding of myself.

Thanks.
I'm interested in the C++ and C languages primarily, I enjoy the equations, initializations, organization, and finally the complex structures. While many aspire to make video games, I'd never want to be a part of a big project like that I don't think. As a developer I'd rather focus on helping make programs for either general use or specific establishments. Being a database admin would be nice too.

I don't think I'm going to wrap up this degree until later in my life though. Right now I'm really wanting to experience a day-job like a vast majority of my cohort has already done :( (I don't think I can balance school and work like they did, or as effectively as I'd like to, so I'll take a break from school instead). I'm also looking into moving and living independently in a different climate for about a year.
