Hi. I tend to talk out loud and I figured you all might cause maybe it's a trend with aspies.
I wanted to see if people talk more dialog or monologue. Please post examples if you could.
It is really interesting.

Here is my example:
"Hi'
"Hello..."
"Who are you?"
"Im the guy"

Well lol its kinda random :P depends what im thinking about. Mostly its like 2 different persons
inside me talking about stuff. Sometimes its like "Hm.. I wonder what its like......." and so on.

:P Thank You.

I was laughing when I saw the poll results being 100% everything!

Then I scrolled down and saw there was only one post!

I'll do stuff like, "Hey! Watch out! Man what were you thinking?", "Watch out yourself! I knew what I was doing!"
Sometimes I do it in different voices.
After reading Harry Potter books, I'd imitate the accents I used when reading.
After watching Napolean Dynamite, I'd imitate the characters from that, when talking to myself.

My conversations with myself usually happen when I'm alone, or when I think I'm out of earshot of others... unless I slip and just do it.
When other people hear it and ask if I'm talking to them... I just say, "No, I'm just talking with myself".

I have had more than one person at work tell me I talk to myself.
Most times I don't even notice.
Sometimes... again mostly when I'm alone, or think I'm alone... I just let go and have these raging discussions with myself.
I like it! It's fun!
Now that I have a stuffed toy dog... err a toy of a stuffed dog... I just talk to old Bartholomew!
I figured one day that if I'm going to have a pet around the house by myself, it would have to be a stuffed toy.
Other than you folks, no one else knows how crazy I am! ... I think!? :?

My monologues go more like this, "No, No, No! Don't grab it there! Yes! That's it! Okay, now let's just move it across and up..."
That's what I think most folks at work hear me doing.
I'll do it around patients too and when I catch myself, I'll just simply tell them that I talk out loud to myself and if they want to join in, that's fine with me! :D

I have quite a few people come back with, "Well, it's okay to talk to yourself... just as long as you don't answer!" ... little do they know.... bwahahahahahahaha

I rarely talk to myself, and even then, it's very quietly.

If I did not talk to myself, and play roles, voices, I would hardly ever speak.

It is proof of being insane, or a writer. Writer is seen as another term for drunk, I cannot win, so I play alone.

I talk to my imaginary friends, but I suppose a more mature way of putting it is that I engage myself in long-winded, emotionally-fueled monologues. When I was younger, I used to do dialogs where I would perform the voices of both my imaginary friends and myself. I could see myself getting into that habit again, haha.

Hey Shmeeper welcome to the site, as I told you I talk to myself alot, I need to get stuff off my chest and there is no other outlet for it, it seems I always have all this emotion and opinions that I really want to express but it's all trapped up inside, I'll usualy go to a secluded area where I know nobody will sneak up on me at, like beside a fence and do it alot, I'll give a good example of what my convos are about.

Me: I wonder how reality came about, how can it be possible, how can something come from nothing, if it was something, that something had to come from nothing or did that something come from something, and why did that something just magicaly apear to be there, how can that be, why should I be asking that question who says it can't be but if it can be then how can it be.

my monologs are very important to me, it's one very big part of how I learn.

Ooh... I'm in awe.. seriously!
I can sign the alphabet and a few ASL things... I even keep a tiny book on signing in my labcoat pocket for times when I have a chance to sit and read (sorry, but that's usually the potty  ).

You're GOOD Makelifehappen! :D

I wanna be like you!

Don't be fooled...I am not all that great. I would love to be though. I usually end up spelling it out

I was thinking I would like to invest more time in such things, but what is time? *sigh*

I talk to myself on occasion when thinking about something, I dont have an all out conversation, just verbally expressing something im thinking about to myself, often just a short 2-3 word phrase.

I used to have dialogues with myself as a kid, not no more. It sucks cause I always enjoyed my own company, tho sometimes I dont get along with myself

I talk to myself to direct myself and keep my thoughts organized.

my talking to myself is monologues. i always talked to myself and when i was very little i couldn't control it. i remember, when i was maybe 6-year-old, walking down some street and talking to myself loud out and people were looking at me because of it. only at that age i realized that perhaps i should not be doing that in public, suddenly i felt embarrassed. since then, i don't do that in public, but at home, when no one can hear it, i talk to myself loud out.
