This site popped up in my Google alert this morning. The owner is promoting Asperger's as a disease which he can help you overcome quickly.

I sent him a letter of protest. Some of you might want to do the same. Or even sign up for the information series to see what kind of quackery he's promoting. I did find a link that goes to an ad for a book by Rachel Evans. I don't know anything about her or whether she's even associated with the site, but her emphasis is on "treatng" Asperger's the "natural" way. As far as I can tell, her qualifications are "I’ve dedicated the past 18 months of my life to researching this difficult condition."

Maybe I'm just a Johny come lately, and everybody already knows about her and this blog, but I thought it would be worthwhile to post the information.

Actually, outside of thinking that all with AS are agressive, and calling it a disease, what I read on that site seems balanced and truthful!

That's a pretty big "aside from." That kind of misinformation sticks in people's minds, and when it's mixed with "balanced and truthful" information, there's less reason to question it. How is the average reader supposed to distinguish between them?

You're right there! Almost EVERYONE seems to color it in their own way. I would probably have said PASSIVE! There ARE a number of people that sound AS that HAVE indicated that they were/are agressive though. I'm NOT.

The typical american way of doing things. Someone sees an opportunity to make money based on people's ignorance. Unethical business is in the american blood. USA the country of vulgar self-help solutions, workout machines that do the workout for you and skin lotions that can cure cancer.

i have no great love for the USA, but in their blood? Full-blooded americans are almost extinct thanks to the various european invaders.. the people now inhabiting america, well they likely have an incredibly mixed ancestry.

I didn't mean it literally, more like it's a cultural tradition they are indoctrinated with.

When most of Europe had their constitutions rewritten after nazi-occupation, USA is still based on the settler societies of three hundred years ago where laws were made to give every man and community the right to govern themselves because the real government was busy fighting the english. This created a culture where fast business and opportunity was possible but also opened the door to endless quackers selling miracle medicine. This tradition goes on today, still. USA is the most primitive democracy in the world and their courts and jurisdictional system is just a cloaked up cosmetical modernization of when packs of settlers hunted down cattle thieves and hanged them in the nearest tree. How a nation like that can even function is beyond me.

Someone selling private solutions to "cure Asperger's" could and would never happen in a European country. Just the idea is apalling and vulgar.

FUDO is RIGHT! Most "americans" today are ANYTHING BUT! MOST are immigrants here only false pretenses or just ILLEGALLY. Many others are immediately from the first group i spoke of. When MY families came here, they BLENDED IN! One either came here knowing English, or quickly learned it. The other was from Ireland so they, of course, knew english. Though they moved into areas consistant with their origins(My fathers into a predominantly German part of wisconsin, and my mothers into Boston which STILL has a lot of irish), they spoke ENGLISH outside, and melded with everything else. The US was NOT built in diversity(like some jerks today claim), but UNITY in diversity! In other words, they worked TOGETHER, even though their ethnicity was different!

Americans are SUPPOSED to be hard working ethical people, but that seems to have all but disappeared over the sense of "entitlement".

OH, if only that were true! Every health club I have been in has the PERSON doing the workout! The CLOSEST I have seen to what you speak of is a machine that emulates a rope that you climb up. It can reduce your weight by up to about 200 pounds. So I weigh about 240, and can have it make me seem like I weigh 40 pounds as I climb up the rope. The idea on THAT machine is to keep reducing the amount of help. Most other machines merely allow you to direct the weight in a consistant fashion. Maybe Zoonic never actually used any such machine, and has been misled. They ensure that you can be sure that the SAME weight hits the SAME muscles in the SAME way, and prevent the need to do things like skull crushers that could ACTUALLY cush your skull. But they don't do ANY of the work.

As for skin lotions that can CURE cancers? MAYBE you mean the lotions that can protect against the suns rays and LIMIT the likelyhood of getting SKIN CANCER. What is wrong with that? Would YOU like to be paralyzed by polio?

i just mean an american, or anyone, can be great, wise etc. but like you there say there are various cultural traditions in place..
If everyone ignores society they'll be fine, we have to somehow rise above our respective societies. UK is no haven of democracy & free speech either unfortunately.

Actually, they DID change the constitution, EVEN TO THIS DAY, by interpretation!(The last such change I heard of was just a few days ago) That is ILLEGAL, and unconstitutional, but they do it. The constitution as originally written was FINE! Maybe you should READ it sometime!

BTW the states powers are LIMITED! The SEC, FDA, USDA, for example, are FEDERAL organizations! The override anything the states legislate.

After 1929, they created the SEC to stop brokers, like madoff. Madoff was a special case, as there were idiots that wanted to be SPECIFICALLY excluded. Madoff went after THEM! The FDA was passed to get rid of snakeoil, etc... The USDA was to regulate the food supply. It is the attempt to have courts be fair, and paid advocates that creates most of the problems. BTW Great Britain has a very similar system!

I hope you're kidding. Most Russians didn't like the old system, and every case that I heard of where they DID, it was because THEY liked the ENTITLEMENT! In other words, THEY had the sense that zoonic claimed Americans did. Russia allowed a lot of people to get things without working, and found work for others. The problem with freedom is that you often have to work to do things like get a job. ALSO, once you get a job, you may get more or less pay. From what I understand, things were generally different in Russia.

as i understand it, the US bluffed Russia into building more nukes.. US had about 22,000 so i have read & the soviet government couldn't see the "Poker" strategy of the US (No bluffing in Russian roulette) & so they kept building nukes until bankruptcy.. the US essentially pulled a "micro$oft" on their main rivals.
the US government then sells nukes all over & has the arrogant audacity to invade countries that THEY sold WMD's too..

OK, I misspoke. I have HEARD that most russians feel that way, and various evidence seems to bear it out. As for Americans, much the same. As the opinions change, you notice the people do as well.

The US sells nukes? BESIDES, if that were true, why didn't they sell any to Israel? It is NO secret that they sold a LOT of technology to Israel, but the official word(at least publically), is that nobody KNOWS if Israel has nukes. Everyone SUSPECTS it. Nobody really wants to push the issue, but they say they don't KNOW. Since the US is open about so many other things, why wouldn't they be open about THAT?

As for the US INTENTIONALLY tricking Russia, that would be IDIOTIC! WHAT would be the purpose? The US hasn't even, to the best of my knowledge, stated what the maximum specs on the SR-71 are! Wikipedia says:

And THAT was built in 1964! That is almost as old as I am! They even claimed it was RETIRED, but it WASN'T!

SO, do you think the US should have EVERY plan cranking out EVERYTHING at a FEVERED pace to ENSURE superiority? Should they have submarines EVERYWHERE, and break international law, to cause others to submit? NOPE! The US has been a major player in TWO world wars. It has allies all around the globe. You would have to be an IDIOT to attack it. And even allies that HATE the US would fight an unjust enemy because not only is it the right thing to do, but it will insure that we will be there to protect THEM!

So SORRY if you don't agree with a strategy that has records that supposedly go backk over 7000 YEARS ago(such cases are EVEN in the old testament, and even in the TORAH). It is the ONLY sane way to fight. It ALSO saves LIVES! SUPPOSE that the US DIDN'T do that! Russia and China might have tried to attack.

If they did, life, as we know it, would have beenn ERADICATED on this planet within perhaps 30 minutes! OK, OK, maybe only perhaps a billion would have died in that 30 minutes. There is a FAIR chance that a billion more could have died in the next few hours. Most of the rest would have died within a few months. And, DON'T FORGET, THOSE were DIRTIER bombs! There was MORE fallout and the initial explosions were greater. OK, perhaps a billion around the globe might have survived to some degree. They would likely have had problems with infrastructure.

So a lack of info might have saved the planet.

BTW did you know that, during WWII, FRANCE had a partial news blackout!? WHY?!?!? The NAZIs had some great weapons that allowed them to EASILY hurt france, but they weren't easy to aim. France reported where they hit and the NAZIs, gettting the info, could refine their targeting. When france found out, they stopped reporting. You see, FRANCE isn't stupid EITHER!
