Hey I'm near the Philly area. Like meeting people and trying to talk and even help out if I can! I also enjoy learning abotu social groups around me and considering to being a part of them.

I think having a good family has made me more able to be outgoing, but not without so many relentless hardships from peers, some adults, and even my own family at times, ack! I tend to be more outgoing online or when I know I'm talking with aspies/HFAs because they are easier to relate to and trust.

Hello, Im 19, I live by myself in the bay area, CA.
Im an aspiring concept artist who was diagnosed at a very young age.
my birth parents were killed when I was too young to know them, and I was adopted by my 2 adoptive NT parents who I love very much, both of which live in SD.

My adoptive father died last year, and following that much like sinewave up there, it has not been the best year.

Im just on a crazy adventure.

I have interests in videogaming(some classic as well as newer games), photography, cooking, performance cars, national parks, collecting odd coins, manga(mostly Berserk and Gantz), fan of Top Gear, fan of the Spoony One, AVGN, TGWTG, Lord Kat and the bashing of bad games and movies when needed.

PM me or add me on MSN if you want to talk sometime.

Hi, everyone. My name is Andrew. I'm 19 and live in New Jersey. I'm a recent newcomer to this forum and to the world of AS. I first knew in January of this year and received an official diagnosis in May.

I have Asperger's to thank (I suppose) for my interest in the weather and therefore my intended profession in the future. I'm really into what people disparagingly call "oldies": the music of the '60s, '70s, & '80s. I also follow some sports teams in my area (Nets & Devils) and also the Miami Dolphins. The same goes for the television shows I like.

Because of the short amount of time I've known and my selectivity, I can count on my hands the number of people who I've told. I prefer to control this information. I'm looking to live my life differently now, but first learning how to do it. Even though it's summer, I'm not having much social interaction. I've made friends in my life, but most of them go to different colleges now and we rarely see each other. Besides work, I could go quite a while without seeing anyone but my family. I'm excited about making some friends and hope that you are as well.

Hi there! Thought it was about time to write here.

Name: Camilla
Gender: Female
Age: 19 (to be 20 per 5/9)
Lives in: Denmark
Languages: Danish, English - Danish being my mother tongue. I consider myself to be fluent in English, but I am not perfect.
Diagnose: On the papers it says unspecified brain-developmental malfunction on the autism spectra, however that is very long to rabble off when someone asks, so I usually say Aspergers Syndrome, as that is what I find myself to be the closest to.
I also suffer from Panic Disorder, which means I can get panic attacks over things that are not dangerous.
Occupation: Jobless. I failed college twice and have not found a job.
Main interests: World of warcraft, gaming, reading, roleplaying and occationally writing. - One could say I'm a bit of a geek.
Member on WP since: A few weeks ago, roughly.

I am looking for any kind of friend, be it online or in real life. I tend to be shy at first, but as I speak to people I get a bit more confident. I usually am not the person that takes contact to people, admittively, but I will reply to any PM's.
I've also got MSN/Skype/Facebook and such.

Hope to hear from someone ^^

Hello Andrew and Camilla, and welcome to WP!
The best way to gain contacts here is to add witty comments to recently added threads. Also make sure to add a new thread once a week or so. You need to comment to meet people here, so make sure you do!
(And Andrew, let me know if you need any advice on what math you need to study for your meteorological career.)

Well, Admiral, I used to be a Physics major at my college and anticipated quite a lot of math as a result. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending how you look at it), Academic Advising gave me bad information about starting my Analytical Physics sequence and messed me up. An option I found was to become a Chemistry major because what I have already taken can fit into either or; the future semesters (my second year) determine Physics vs Chemistry. As a Chemistry major, I'm following the recommended guidelines for the degree and it has me stopping at Calc 1.

I tried taking Calc 1 in the Spring and mathematically earned an F in the class, but the professor put down a D. I am just about to finish my second attempt at the class tomorrow when I take my Final Exam. My quizzes and tests are much better this time around and I should get a high B or a low A. This raises my GPA and allows me to continue on a scholarship.

Thank you for your offer. I would still be happy to listen to what you have to say. I think when I transfer to a four-year college (I'm at a county college now), I will have to come back to the math that comes up for Physics majors but this time for the Meteorology major. I'm weaker in math than in other subjects and I'll take any advice you'll give.

Please see "Map for all Earthbound members of WrongPlanet" http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt104660.html
The main purpose of the map is to help people form local support networks.
Now, I'm trying to think of a way for my map to work for both ideas -- support and dating.
Please feel free to offer any helpful comments on my thread.

Hello! My name is Daniel. I have an autism spectrum disorder, I am high-functioning and I live in south Hampshire in England.

I am also an atheist. I would like to meet people who share my naturalistic rationalist worldview, and who understand what it's like to be autistic. I am especially interested in meeting family members of people on the autistic spectrum.

PM me if you are interested.
