Funny because I was thinking about this today. It wasn't til I was about 22 that my parents said things like "You didn't act like a teenager when you were a teenager." and "Why are you acting like a teenager now?" Physically of course I matured at an average pace. I think I'm onl...

I tend to avoid conversations with my parents for this reason. "YOU JUST INTERRUPTED YOUR FATHER." "She always does that. She's awful. She's so rude. She just interrupts everyone." Me: *sitting in silence, once again deemed a horrible person* thinking "I'm sitting right here...

Was I taught to? No. Did I learn to? Yes.
No one likes that kid in class that always knows the right answer or who uses the big words. No one likes it if you know too much.
Granted I still didn't make many friends but at least I wasn't actively disliked. |

I had a problem working at a pizza place because when people wouldn't come up to the window to get their pizza my manager would just say "Oh, I'll just walk it out to them, what did they look like?" Or "What are they wearing?" And I would have to tell him "I don't know."...

I can't stand the process. Stores are too crowded and full of weird smells and repeatedly taking off and putting on clothes is the worst. Plus lights are bright and in a department store you have to walk through the perfume department to get to anything (not that I ever go to those). Then you have t...

My mother once told me if my siblings said something hurt they were fine, but if I said something hurt I probably needed to go to the emergency room. Cuts and scrapes, bruises, etc I have a high tolerance for. Physical pain. Sensory things I have a low tolerance for. Even though I know when people t...

I hated and resisted every change along the way. I hated wearing a bra (nightmare for someone who only liked loose clothing and certain textures), hated driving a car... Even now if someone else is willing to drive me I take them up on it and pay for their gas. If I'm driving I'm frequently rubbing ...

People have asked me this frequently, ever since I can remember. I think it's because I don't show much expression on my face.
I've asked the same question many times though, "Why do people keep asking me that?" And no one gives a real answer. |

I do it all the time without meaning to or awareness of it. The worst is with my parents because then they start talking about me as if I'm not in the room, not sitting right there. Mom: You just interrupted your father! Dad: She does that all the time. She's awful. Mom: I know, she's so rude. Belie...

If I'm talking loudly I honestly have no idea until someone asks me "Why are you so LOUD? You're almost shouting." I always have no idea. Absolutely no clue. I have a slightly better grasp on it now than I ever have. Trying to remember to speak at a moderated volume is distracting though a...

Animal body language is extremely easy to learn and decipher and varies only a little from dog to dog or cat to cat or horse to horse. Not only that, but they don't use spoken language and they tend to be very obvious about say, happy or unhappy. They're easy to connect with because they really ask...

I'm sorry they keep trying to make eye contact. I don't know what is up with the obsession with eye contact. My mom used to grab my chin when she was mad at me and pinch me really hard, force my head up and yell "Look me in the eyes when I'm talking to you!" And she wore the big fake nails...
