I have SMD (stereotypic movement disorder,) so my stimming is usually longer, more aggressive, and usually involves the entire body. I do plenty of small stimms but the big ones are... 1: When I was child I would spend hours hitting the ground with sticks while walking around in various patterns. Th...

I have the same thoughts only it isn't so much I want to kiss them but rather I imagine kissing them. Does that make sense... :? I don't want to kiss them. I only imagine myself kissing them as well. Usually it is the kind of people I would last want to kiss meaning that this is provoked not throug...

For my friends and close family this isn't really a problem, but nearly everyone else I talk to I can't help but imagine myself kissing them. I don't do it because I think it would be pleasurable, quite the contrary. It is often when I'm talking to more formal or important people like....teachers, e...

I've always wondered if I may be a little bipolar...I'm not sure if this is normal or not.... This happens often enough, but here is the latest example... At this point I am calm... Mom: "Ok, so tell me again what the names of the roads around here?" Me: "I don't know, but if you tell me them I can ...

Basically all progressive rock bands from the 70's are obscure by today's standards.

Check out

King Crimson
Yes
Genesis (early Peter Gabriel)
Captain Beefheart
Can
Return to Forever
Tangerine Dream

Just to name a few

I really enjoyed reading this HopeGrows. I more or less agree with everything you have said. I think it is important that people understand the despite how perfect some people out there in the world may seem for you...there is always someone else. There are so many people in the world with so many d...

I'll admit, I've been thinking about this topic and have noticed some consistencies myself.

John Hinckley, Jr. (the guy that almost assassinated Ronald Reagen,) was/is absolutely obsessed with actress Jodie Foster. Sounds a lot like an Aspie, special interest.

I can relate to this as the longer I go without stimming the next time I do it the feelings are even more intense.

My entire life I've been able to Stimm on an hourly basis. I wonder, though, if for some reasons I was simply unable to do it anymore, how I would react.

Do any of you have stories of when you couldn't stimm and how you reacted?

I'm wondering if anyone else has ever been fixated on a person in their life to the degree that they have become a "special interest". I have had quite a few of these fixations over the years...my first one was at six...and they haven't stopped since then. They go beyond the scope of a typical crus...

I was obsessed with a former friend of mine for years. In fact, my fixation with her was one of the primary reasons why our friendship ended. Though I had a handful of friends throughout my school years, she was the one I was closest to, because we shared a common interest (she was as obsessed as I...

Do we really think Einstein had Asperger's? I've read a couple of biographies about him, and he seemed like a fairly social animal. Maybe it was just easier to BE social back when Einstein lived -- I don't know. He definitely was awful to his first wife. I think that he had a bit of celebrity statu...

Yeah, terrible depiction. Are there any shows with accurate depictions? As others have said, and I totally agree with, a sitcom would be a great idea. I mean, aren't sitcoms just exaggerated depictions of life? A sitcom with aspie characters has the potential to be hilarious, i'm sure the writers c...
