YMBAAI you have to constantly pretend to laugh when people joke because very few people are actually funny and yet everyone tries.

2. "Important papers". From the bank, insurance company or something like that. Just seeing it makes me stressed. And when I read it it's all mumbo-jumbo. My typical reaction is; "WHAT DO THEY WANT FROM ME?!" 3. How to make friendships or relationships. The process contains lots of social codes tha...

There are probably lots of things I don't understand, but one which bugs me and always has done, is why people a. say things they don't mean and b. speak in an over-elaborate way instead of just saying what they mean. That drives me nuts. I tend to 'switch off' when people do that. I know what you ...

Am I really the only person who would find it incredibly fascinating to see someone getting eaten alive from the inside by trillions of nanobots? Am I really the only person who has a blast spending an entire day researching the Philadelphia experient? Am I really the only person who spends hours da...

Well I can tell you what it means for me in my life. Acting quite a lot younger for your age (but when feeling good, when focused outwards, acting a lot older and 20 years wiser like one of my ex-gf noticed), lots and lots of depression (since I was 12), real philosophing since I was 6, thinking a ...

I worked at a discount bookstore. I had a customer come in and ask "do you have such & such on DVD?" I didn't really hear his request other than the DVD part and we only sold books, no DVDs, so I said "no, we don't sell DVDs". He said "but Dymocks sell DVDs". I couldn't help myself... slapped hi...

I'm very familiar with tuning out, and I'm very familiar with dissociation, but I never get the two at the same time... It is strange to me that others relate the two. I experienced a lot of dissociation when I was suffering depression. You stop really feeling. You only experience. You start viewing...

Anyway... Could anyone tell me what are the main things that characterise their aspergers? Could somebody explain what the symptoms mean? Coming from the horses mouth, how are they experienced? I realise everyone is different, but what are the defining characteristics?

Taking jokes literally and not being able to read body language are traits of ADHD, but I've noticed that people with ADHD will work on bettering their social skills whereas people with AS just give up. They rather stay at home than go through all the stress of socialising. You can have both ADHD a...

I'm a 20 year old male diagnosed with Innatentive ADHD. As a bit of background, ADHD, aspergers, bipolar and depression all run in my family. My behaviours which are supposed symptoms of ADHD are as follows: I tune out a lot. I feel like there is so much interesting stuff to think about, so its hard...
