I'm just wondering, do you guys care much about what people think of you? I, myself, don't care much about what people think of me. And by people I mean people in general, not people who are close to you (friends, family, people who matter). I have plenty of friends (they are NT) and it seems like w...

Oh god, forget about people. Who cares about what they think and do? And if they treat you like s**t then they are a**holes and stay away from them. Surround yourself with positive people who can accept you for who you are and not judgmental about your condition. I have stopped giving a f**k about p...

I probably have a different take in this matter but I don't want any cure because I love the way I am, I truly do. If I had to be like those NT people, oh god forbid it ever happened! My life is nothing more than a blessing because there is no drama in my life, I always know what I want in life and ...

You know you're autistic when: 1. you get annoyed to hear people talk, especially when you're asleep and people talk loud near your apartment door. 2. you get lost inside a building. 3. you can't tell which one is right which one is left. 4. you hate people coming over because they will wreck your p...

I really dislike the idea of having people at my house/apartment, I know that they are going to move things around, change the position of the pillows on my couch, leave their cups or whatever. It's everything about it that is so annoying. Does anyone have the same problem? And how to explain to the...

You know you're autistic when... (something that comes to mind) 1. you broke one finger nail and you have to clip the rest of your finger nails to match the shorter one that you just clipped. 2. you watch the same movie over and over again until you can quote your favorite lines perfectly. 3. someon...

Same here. But not because I can't sleep, I just don't like sleeping in general. Personally I think sleeping is a waste of time and I'd prefer doing something more constructive. I used to have terrible sleeping problems, I slept only for two hours, etc, and it was terrible. But as I get older, someh...

Can't really say that I survived it, I went to couple of parties and felt very overwhelmed but I stayed anyway. Good thing that I plan to stay in and cook for New Year's Eve. I still have an invitation to a christening though, and I'm still trying to decide whether I should go or not. Worse comes to...

Christmas is a rough time for me too. For the first 25 years of my life, I spent Christmas with my parents, but for the last few winters, they have been living in Florida. My sister is with her family, and we aren't really very close anyways.. I don't have a family of my own. Not anyone's fault but...

I'm neither an optimist nor a pessimist. I'm a realist. I have also characterized myself as a realist (as opposed to an optimist or pessimist). However, most people I know (which is not a lot – LOL) consider me quite pessimistic. I never understood it. Any thoughts on the difference between being a...

Fascinating, yes. Beautiful? I don't think so. I do like observing people and how they interact though, I find them to be fascinating, the way they make small talk, and can go on and on about a very trivial thing like weather. I learn a lot from them, I came up with set of responses that I can use w...

I took two IQ tests when I was in school but I don't remember what the exact score (down to numbers) but I was above average. I'm 31, now in school for a second bachelor's and my GPA is 3.9. I speak two languages fluently, and know a little Italian. I suppose that explains the level of my intelligen...

Many times people say that I'm pessimist, which I never agree because I always see myself as a realist. I can't think that good things will happen if there is no evidence or facts that there is something that will lead to good things. Is it being negative? I never think so but people around me alway...

Thanks for the posts and thoughts, I'm planning to see a psychiatrist and get officially diagnosed as soon as I have the free time.
I don't think that it will change who I am much but it seems being officially diagnosed is a lot better and trying to figure out things myself. |
