I agree that the war on drugs is a nanny state policy and that it's BS that so much money is being wasted and people being incarcerated, but how exactly does social conservatism prevent gays from equal treatment? Gays are socially prosecuted against, not legally or institutionally. People's addicti...

@ AceOfSpades Furthermore we have enough problems with tobacco and alcohol, we don't need to add any other drugs to the list. Sadly, despite spending trillions and locking up tons of otherwise law abiding citizens, "the list" is already slap full of other drugs. Terrible ghastly drugs like Meth tha...

@ CharlieInTheBox The Social Conservatism justifies the fiscal conservatism by saying that it is a person's responsibility for their own behavior Government isn't their nanny. Sounds good, but my point was more the other way 'round I guess. A fiscal conservative need not be conservative in other ar...

The whole liberal versus conservative thing is a false dichotomy. They fight about some things, pretend to fight about others, pretend there are only two sides to anything, and privately make all kinds of deals. They hope we are too busy watching "reality TV" to notice what they are really doing, an...

But public schools are used to indoctrinate children into atheism. Not in Georgia! In fact the only mention of religion I remember is reciting the Pledge Of Allegiance every day, which of course indoctrinates children into theism. It used to be required by state law here, dunno if still true. Kids ...

"I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its futility, its stupidity." Dwight D. Eisenhower When President Eisenhower warned us about the military-industrial complex, at the time that statement was a very big deal. A hell of a position to make so cl...

My feeling is that this isn't really an Aspie issue, per se. I think men in general have a harder time continuing a platonic friendship with an ex. Like, what is it with that???? I am hurting SO badly because someone refuses to be my friend after breaking off a romantic relationship. There was no h...

How difficult is for an Aspie to remain friend with an ex? I know there is a lot of variability within the general population and so I expect this to be the case also among people with Asperger. Also a lot of variability depending on the relationship. I just got off the phone with my ex-wife of 7 y...

Hi! I'm a 40 year old divorced guy who has always had trouble with the supposed "simple stuff" of life. I never knew why until a couple of weeks ago, diagnosed with Aspergers. I'm still learning the basics but SO much of what I've read here and in books just blows me away, so cool to not be alone. I...
