Meursault in Albert Camus' novel L'etranger (The Stranger) The whole point of the book is that he is condemned for not acting as society expects him to (doesn't show emotion at mother's funeral, for instance) and being honest at all times (when his girlfriend asks if he loves her, he says no because...

For a while I played the FIFA football computer games of the EA Sports franchise rather obsessively. In these games there was a create player mode, using a points system where you allocated points against a list of skills using a slider. My notion of having AS has always been that we have an uneven ...

Quite a few people have now said to me that when I talk to them I appear secretive/ it seems like I know something that they don't and am keeping it secret.

Is this something that you have experienced and do you think it has anything to do with AS?

I should say that I did the first bit of the test, went away for about 2 hours, then did the rest so the verbal memory bit should probably be higher.

Verbal: 111 - 77th percentile
Exec.: 94 - 34th percentile

I agree that the AQ and EQ questions can be problematic and confusing to answer. However, I must also point out that I consider this thread to be very misleading; what is being discussed is simply the the AQ and EQ questions, and not the Adult Asperger Assessment (AAA) itself. The AAA uses the AQ, E...

I get that you use it to appear normal, I really do. Would you talk about "her" as if you were in a relationship, doing things together, etc? He raised this gf in almost every conversation we've had but only briefly, except yesterday when he spoke about "her" extensively. I therefore couldn't tell ...

Do you think you'd accomplish anything with the girl you're interested in by doing this? I didn't say that I had done this to a girl that I was interested in. If I realised the interest, I would never even consider it. As I mentioned, I was inclined to invent girlfriends because I thought that I wo...

I have done this; i.e. invented girlfriends. In my case, it is to do with embarrassment about my total lack of experience and a desire to appear normal. It is interesting that this issue has been raised - I posted on the other thread about this particular topic to describe an experience I had, as I ...

So my question to you now is: What if he still gives me no answer or a blank stare once I have told him again how I feel and discussed the AS issue, should I just up and leave or should I give him time to absorb the information? I don't want to corner him and demand an answer but then I'm not willi...

In daily life, how conspicuous do you consider your AS to be to others? I realise that we are not particularly aware of how we appear to others, so just answer the question as you see it. Also, on the level of individual social interactions, is this dependent on: a) length of contact b) context of c...

I am 21 and, when considering the general subject of 'girls', I observed that it seems to be that younger teenage girls (say 16-17) are attracted to me, while girls my own age are apparently not. Does anyone know why this should be so, or has anyone else indeed found the same thing? My own theory is...
