I moved interstate in January 2011 to take a job as a teacher at a special school. It was my dream job. I have an 11 yr old Aspie daughter, and I am a diagnosed Aspie as well. It's been a year and all of a sudden I am extremely homesick. I can't stop crying and regretting my decision. My daughter do...

After reading this I realise that 11-12 years ago the same thing happened to me. A NT man left me without a word. I was pregnant too. Luckily either due to my Asperger's, or because I've been damaged or broken since before I can remember, there was never a need to question this. I cut off any feelin...

I'm still waiting for puberty to hit. I'm 31, I have a child, but I've never felt inclined to date someone let alone do anything more. I dated when I was 18-19 years old, one guy, because my 'friends' (I thought they were at the time anyway) insisted I couldn't *not* be interested and that I needed ...

I'm 31 and I still watch Saturday Disney even though my 11 year old daughter doesn't. I also collect Cabbage Patch Kids. I'm sitting here now with one of my CPK girls on my lap. She's been changed into her PJs for the night. I have them all over my room, I have a CPK lunchbox and backpack that I tak...

I always carry a bag/purse with me. It makes me feel safe. I carry my phone/keys/purse in it, plus my asthma and migraine medication. A few other things get thrown in there. I had a 1960s French army bag up until recently when I swapped to a pink Guess bag. I am always searching for the perfect bag....

I am on the spectrum and I work as a special education teacher at a school for children with mild to moderate intellectual impairments. My last calculations indicated that 26% of our student population were on the spectrum. I have a class of 11 students, 4 of whom have autism. I did not disclose my ...

I think you have every right to be upset and feel the way you do. But I think you should feel better about the fact that *you* have done the right thing. You recognise the importance of family, and you reached out to him. You can't force him to accept you or to accept your overture. I was disowned b...

I have to say that this is exactly how I am feeling now.
I've never felt lonely before. Alone, yes...but never lonely. Now I feel both. I feel like I don't fit in anywhere in real life, and now I don't belong online either. |

I thought the internet was helping at one point but over the years I've noticed that I'm a complete thread-killer. I'm awkward in real life, although I am much better now at hiding a lot of my traits. Online it can be easier, but I still don't find it overly easy. A lot of the time I still don't kno...

Hello everyone, I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Sas, and I'm 30. I was diagnosed 3 years ago with AS. My daughter is 11 and she was diagnosed with AS in 2007. I am currently working as a special education teacher in a special school in Melbourne. They don't know about my diagnosis, althou...
