I suspect we look at making friends the same way we look at everything else we try to do.. We expect 97 - 100% success.. And permanence. If Love at First Sight is a thing.. Hate at First Sight must be also.. Plus I suspect our sources for how and what friendship is like.. may be skewed. Movies, TV, ...

I've had a busy week.. I've talked to two people in the last ten days. It's now September, I've probably interacted with others maybe 10 - 12 hours total this year.. Grocery store, doctor office, dog park, gas station included.. My brother lives ~200 feet away, claims he loves talking with me, but a...

There's a lot of untrue assumptions (even in the scientific and medical fields) about why autistic peeps do not interact the same as NTs. The why assumptions are the result of an inherent bias that normal = accurate, and different = flawed. In situations that normal was in accurate, then with this b...

While speaking looking at someone's eyes is a nonverbal cue that you're about to let them respond/speak..
Looking away while talking is a nonverbal cue you're not ready to give up the 'floor' just yet, so to speak.

If the suffering is so unbearable and there's simply no place for somebody like me in this world, then would it make logical sense just to leave? Of course it makes logical sense. frankly I'm surprised there's even a single remaining human choosing to stay alive today. Certainly everyone can see th...

Honestly it's really only the people you have nothing in common with who will actually disappear. I remember being terrified of exactly the same thing (or the ways girls see it anyways) and while my work and my friends' schools have demanded a lot of patience, my social life hasn't been erased. Nic...

Technically Asperger's is exactly Autism Spectrum Disorder. Good luck finding any important differences. And at least by the time people are adults, it's functionally the same as well. Because there are wide variances of functionality on several dozen likely symptoms it's pretty much impossible to l...

What is the difference between a gold digger and someone who wants someone who is financially stable? People will be called a gold digger for wanting a partner that is financially stable. I see a gold digger as a person who is focused on marrying for big money -- to the exclusion of just about ever...

There is a new method of cut/paste in genetics called CRISPR. I'll spare you the details, but it is cheap and easy. Undergraduate students are accomplishing in a couple semesters what used to take full professors years and hundreds of thousands of dollars to do. You can set up a CRISPR lab in your ...
