Wow I was truly thinking that horoscope was a joke. But you banned me for making fun of how ludicrous it was, so I guess it wasnt. And clearly I'm not holding a conversation with myself. You read it, you retorted, not just with a post, but a disciplinary action, probably hoping I'd never come back s...

I've noticed a lot of characters in TV and movies have aspie like traits. But that's it, just similarities. I'm hyperlexic and hypergraphic and have read it is pretty common among people with AS so would not doubt that hollywood has its fair share of writers who are eccentric like us and sneak thems...

My latest funny thing was I was queuing for something (I hate queueing, just having people behind me is stressful if they stand too close) so I must have zoned out and starting running my hands over the pannelling beside me, just did it repeatedly until I realized 8O good thing is now I didn't feel...

I know what you mean man. I'm 24 and was diagnosed about 6 months ago. I've told only 3 people, 2 of them (my mom and a good friend) passed it off as 'probably just some depression' So i've told no one since. It just seems easier to go on alone.

A friend of mine who teaches said she took a class on autism and they did a bit on Aspergers and a movie she watched mentioned Gates was possible an aspie. I bugged the heck out of her to try and remember the name of the documentary but she doesn't remember =/. But since then I've tried to catch a l...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_Carol I've always been a fan of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Lewis Carroll. Two of my favorite things have been writing and math so I always enjoyed his writing and thought happily to myself that maybe he was an aspie as such proficiency in both math and la...

I tried to tell my Mom, she passed it off as depression. I told one person I work with because she happened to be studying during her break and was doing a paper on Aspergers. Got to talking to her about it. I've told no one else. There is one friend who I care about a lot and have just frozen every...

Poor generalization in that article. The one thing I find disheartening is that he clearly states that autistic people "may lack genuine empathy" which I believe to be completely false. I don't think that is true of any of the spectrum disorders. AS, being far more on the functioning side of the spe...

I never really played with toys ever, minus legos. I 'collected' Transformers and GI Joes, I just loved getting them and setting them up, best I can remember is always trying to replicate opening scenes from the shows where all the characters would be positioned together in different arrangements. I...

Hope I don't over-simplify or generalize. 1. failure to develop peer relationships appropriate to developmental level Doesnt make or have friends 2. lack of social or emotional reciprocity Seemingly no reaction to what should cause a reaction (doesn't appear to be saddened or happy about something) ...

Just recently diagnosed in the last few months (24 years old.) A book actually tipped me off. Running with Scissors ( a good book btw), in it the author spends about 1 or 2 pages describing his brother who seemed strikingly similar to me in the way he is describing him. He ends his description sayin...
