Hi, all. I am brand new to considering that I may be somewhere in the spectrum since watching The View. Sophist, thank you for the article. A big road block for me will be that no one is left from my childhood. I'm 54-yrs. old and was adopted by older parents and raised as an only child. I spent a b...

An excellent obsession! Now, if we could only convince US healthcare that it's a cash cow, they might start obsessing too. *fantasizing* I've never been able to resolve how capitalism and medicine can work together towards the common good. I don't see where the incentive is to for them to seek cause...

Thank you so much, Ticker. It's amazingly difficult to sort out information one finds on the internet. I love this forum, regardless of whether or not I ever get diagnosed with anything in the autism spectrum.

dyshidrosis is very common in hypothyroidism/hashimoto, many of them are not able to get simple fever. Hmm... I can certainly have a fever. I even had one go far out of control and was 106 degrees by the time I got to the emergency room. They kept me for a week trying to figure out why a kidney inf...

have you ever seen a girl with hashimoto´s disease? some hairs gets white before the age of 30, the face seems to be much younger than biological age. did you ever heard about this, perhaps in another relation? :) Don't think so. How stress related is all this though? Any connections to dyshidrosis...

Well, my adopted parents are long since dead, but they knew the people I cam from. I still highly suspect my biological mother was alien, even though I knew her mother as my 'grandma'.

To my knowledge, there are not physiological tests for autism and AS, it's all psychological, like (for yopu) anything you can remember that was seen as "strange" or "odd." Recealling stuff about your childhood is a big one for adults. For kids, it's things like how they relate to others, how they ...

So far I don't know much about Aurtism or Asperger's, but I *think* I remember when searching in other directions that there can be a connection between radiation and hypothyroidism. Sorry if it's irrelevant.

Julie, I can't thank you enough. I'm starting with how to get diagnosed and why, and how to complain. That last one might be very useful ;) I have no idea if the seeds of my problems were planted by something like Autism or some environmental factor when I was an infant. I had always shrugged them o...

I'm so sorry. I didn't thank you all properly for welcoming me, but I really do appreciate it. I'm just discombobulated

Yeah, I did a short web search and realized I had no idea what I was looking at :? I figured here would be a better place to start. I have no idea yet where I would stand with my health insurance. I just have the need to get my mental ducks in a row. I want to know how one thing is associated with a...

I hear about all kinds of programs and places for kids to get diagnosed for various learning and developmental challenges. Where does an adult go to find answers to question that just didn't get asked when they were young? I watched the Autism show on The View today out of curiosity. When they spoke...
