Its hard because i grew up in a christian house hold were people believed that there was a god and this god created us and earth.
They took me to church and read me the bible even took me to bible school to learn about god. Everything evolved around god.
And they told me that god was a grate person and you should respected him and what he gave you. Now i understood this i was young and very smart for my age and the thing was i was connected to earth but i wasn't connected to god. I didn't believe in god and what he created so one day when i was around six years old i asked my mom something that kinda shocked her a little i said in all truth "Mom are we robots" Now i can clearly reamber this day and what i was trying to say is "Mom are we being controlled" She told me no and that we had free will.
Now when i got older i didn't believe anything but the paranormal. I even believed i was a atheist. And growing up my mom was awesome.
But my other family wasn't they believed that if you didn't believe in there god you would go to hell. Well as i got older i became more understanding and more understand of people. And i told them "i don't believe in this" But i understand you. And bad idea! My family tryed blaming my not believing it on everything in the book like my "disibleteys" and my "understanding" now my mom told me "i believe what i want to believe and be happy with what you do" But sometimes i could see she believed the same as the others. it hurt. but ill shorten it up.
i got older and i forgot about the others i thought myself to not believe in anything. but i was still oddly connected to earth and other gods.
I was also very into mythology. and i believed in other gods but not worshiped them. eventually i believed god the christian god was real but i didn't follow him. infact i looked up to other gods. but now followed them. and soon i meant someone who in my life thought me more then just religion thought me understanding in myself and others. and became the best person in my life i have ever had. :) my best friend she showed me what i was inside and told me "its up to you to know" but this is what i think you are because i am the same. a wiccan and now i am a wiccan because it turns out she was correct =) we are also soon moving in together. and that's my religion. just a little something i wanted to share guys. thanks for reading .

For people who lived in prescientific times, believing in Greater Powers was a way of deflecting the terror one had of nasty natural events like earthquakes, volcanic erruption, drought, famine and other Bad Stuff. By dealing with the gods, however unreal they were, it was still a way of not being paralyzed by fear.

However we now live in more enlightened times and there is little reason to fill young minds with crap they will have to discard later on when they know better.

I read the original post, and the replys before me....

Personally, I think you should end the Wicca....
why?
If the Christian God is real, he is the only god and spirit to be worshipped.
If you go on youtube, you can look up tons of videos where people say they were
into Wicca, (which from what I understand, is essentially Satan worship).....
and these people who used to be into it.....many of them are now against it.....
so that is why I suggest to you to stay away from it....

for me.....

The Christian God is almost impossible to believe in.......and even more impossible to worship....
based on all the violent he does......and the fact that he initiated this whole universe in the first place,
which in my mind, makes him responsible for evil......

but.....

for me, I can't live without worshipping Jesus, and the 3 in 1 God....
why?
it helps me emotionally.
without this God, my life would be pointless, meaningless, and I would end up just doing bad and bad....
so....
though I agree with anyone who will critisize my beliefs....
it's something I still have to do, for my own well-being. : )

When I was a kid, I had to go to a Baptist church and I didn't like the service because, 1 I was hungry and wanted to go eat and 2 they talked about being saved and spent too much time each Sunday going on and on about that and baptism and I just got bored to tears with that every week. My mom is a devout Baptist while my dad is Catholic and I would much rather stick with Catholicism. My dad will not step foot in a Baptist church ever.

I noticed other churches do not obsess on being saved and baptism for thirty minutes each week. It sounds petty, but this is the main reason I became so disillusioned with the Baptists. I used to get angry with God while in church because I just wanted to leave and go eat pancakes.

I will not go to a Baptist church.

I told my mom this the other day at Arby's and she got that forlorn look on her face but I can't help the way I feel about it.

And then with Bible stories, I loved listening to those and with my daydreaming and attention problems, it was great to have something I could really get into. Those Bible stories were the best and the highlight of my youth. I could listen to those endlessly. I even answered questions about them and won prizes. I won prizes in church quite often.

Yeah i don't even look at them type of comment's ill read them to be respectful but i won't look at there stuff or listen to it.
Because all it is is saying "Go this way" "You need to believe us" and the world does it. and really it goes on forever and ever.
So yep i ignore them and if they go out of the line's to much then ill report them for being rude or find the block butten.

I say respect them and they will respect you it's good to have a balance in life or your going to get fighting all the time.
But i do understand were your coming from i used to hate people all the time and other religions. i had rant i didnt believe a word.
But now i know that if you don't like them saying something then just know they have there own ways and so don't you. and if
they cant understand or see this then they will in time :) because everyone realizes there wrongs at some point.

That is something i cannot tell you because you wouldn't get it.
But there is a reastions for this and really it's all on the person.
But this is what you believe never try forcing something on others.
and maybe you were not doing this as much. but just saying something about someones religion is rude.
if you dont agree then you dont agree.

I've always been a Christian since I was a young child. However, I'll say have never realy been part of a specific church. (Baptist, Catholic, etc.)Though, I guess you can say I TRY to follow the teachings of the SDR. (Seveth-Day Remnant....it's complicated.)
And I honestly don't believe in the famous Hell, but rather ''The Second Death.''

I take it you've never read my relentless anti-religion threads then? Some of them even mock religion in the title!

Why don't people just ignore the rude people in religion?
because if you don't ignore it and go with it arn't you rude also?
i mean people are who they are and believe what they do.
agree or not insults shouldn't be around!

Wondering, have you ever read the books of Daniel and Revelation? Quite interesting, if you know what the symbols mean.

This was in my youth, the situation with the Baptists and the Catholics. Now I do not wish to be either because as a teen, I discovered Ras Tafari and have been into that ever since.
