I often feel gaslighted when engaging in politics
I always feel like I'm getting gaslighted when engaging in political discussions. I wonder if that's a sign I should stop engaging in such discussions.
Sure, people may complain that I'm just a quitter and that I should keep trying, but a person shouldn't engage in an activity that causes them to feel gaslighted. Fix the problem of getting gaslighted first, then engage in discussion.
I think this is a sign that American politics is fundamentally toxic and damned. First, let the American system destroy itself while protecting you and your own as best you can, then try to work on things. Don't cling to anything, and realize that what you have can be taken from you at any moment. And when you finally leave, don't look back lest you find yourself transformed into a pillar of salt.
