McDonalds China blaming black people for coronavirus

McDonald's is in damage control mode after a restaurant in China displayed a sign banning black people from the premises.
The sign, which recently circulated on social media, said the McDonald's location in Guangzhou has "been informed that from now on black people are not allowed to enter the restaurant."

The industrial city has been steeped in racial tensions between Africans and locals. Recent warnings from Chinese officials about the rising number of imported coronavirus cases have stoked anti-foreigner sentiment. Africans in the southern Chinese city have been evicted from their homes by landlords and turned away from hotels, despite many claiming to have no recent travel history or known contact with Covid-19 patients.

At leasst they won't be able to accuse China of marketing high cholesterol foods toward black people.

Putting aside the jokes...the manager of this McDonald hasn't quite thought this through as the local expatriate African population are restricted in the movements (they can't just travel anywhere they want in the country) so are less likely to be carrying the virus compared to the hordes of outsiders from virus hotspots like Hubei or Wuhan.

Simply means the dumb fack hates blacks more than he's worried about his customer's safety

So are they abandoning the "the CIA did it" line of blame-shifting, or do black people in China just all work for the CIA?

Local Guanzhou Chinese don't like sharing tables with blacks so the MocDonald's management comes up with a bright idea to attract more Chinese customers by associated the blacks (who live in china under 24/7 lockdown all year) with coronavirus.

Humans are never happy unless they're blaming and hating someone else. You'd think people in China would have more empathy for black people since others have been racist and xenophobic towards them for this virus in the first place, and it's the fault of their government which is as repulsive as the Americans'

Blaming China for this pandemic is neither xenophobic nor racist (only accurate), and why would you expect China, who is (they might have paused for the pandemic, though) actively engaged in a genocide to be empathetic to people of other races?


Abhorring racism is a very western thing.

The people hurting the most are McDonalds franchises in China which are trying to distance themselves from the Guangzhou management. In China visiting McDonalds is like experiencing American culture - I think the customers want an "all-American" experience

And the caravan of ignorance just keeps on rolling.Scapegoating a minority,China just keeps screwing up.
I never thought it was racist to call it the Wuhan virus.It’s where it started.I had the Russian flu and type A Australian flu, and they didn’t complain about it.

I have to admit I like that Trump keeps calling it the Chinese Flu after all the stuff I have read about how China has been doing the whole time.

Asia isn't responsible for it, just China.

It's a pity that I get threatened with a permanent ban from The One and Only Walrus while you guys get to be racist towards people of Chinese descent and don't even get so much as a warning.
