I don't mind posting about general stuff but I am beginning to feel unconfident with posting about my feelings about my life. A few times in threads I have created about my feelings, I've had unpleasant replies, involving attacks and criticism. Not to mention being called the C-word by a troll. I've asked a mod to lock my thread about babies on a plane, just so it doesn't get bumped in the near future, but nobody had bothered to lock it.
I get more understanding on Facebook than I do here.

And no, I'm not tarring all WP-users with the same brush, because most are genuine and like to empathise with other like-minded Aspies. But there are some that seem to have to make me feel bad.

Just ignore the trolls. That's my solution.

WP is like real life. You always have schmucks and idiots in any context, whether real-world or Internet.

I've noticed that anything where something negative is expressed about children or one's reactions to a child's behavior, will get people hung-drawn-and-quartered, their entrails peed on publicly, and then fed to wild dogs while everyone cheers. . .

I remember this from a thread about supermarkets and children running wild in them. I'm still collecting my entrails from the wolf den down the road.

'babies on a plane' sounds like the terrifying sequel to 'snakes on plane'.

I apologies in advance if you don't find my humour helpful Joe but I'm just trying to make you laugh :D

Humour's fine, it's better than being attacked or humiliated.
:D

But in truth, Joe. You were a young kid yourself a little while ago. Everybody was.

They are a pain in the butt---but a necessary pain in the butt.

You can't do anything about being attacked unfortunately except report posts that break forum rules.

As for being humiliated , that is something you can work on , it sounds like you are feeling humiliated with no reason to feel humiliated - typical anxiety.

Although difficult you need to develop an assertive inner voice to combat the harsh criticism expected imaginatively from others. You should suggest to yourself “What I am presenting is correct and relevant. If anybody criticizes me I don’t care.” ( I just nicked this off a website but thought it relevant )

Which sounds to me a lot like,

Helpful hint - how about researching what leads someone to have such feelings before invalidating them out of hand.

Maybe I shouldn't offer advice when I'm an emotional anxious mess but I was not trying to invalidate Joe's feelings. :?

Okay. Yes, the underlying mess could be a factor - and we'll mercifully avoid mention of whether I might know similar from my own experiences.
Just remember that the message sent by phrasing such as 'no reason to feel' is that the feelings being had are not real, not legitimate. If there is an effect, there is a cause. And feelings are an effect; also an affect in medical terminology.
Oh ya gotta love the affect/effect thing! :D

Well that is certainly one way to interpret my comment to fit your narrative of me not being helpful. I think it's best I stick to poor humour as it what I'm best at.

Joe , please ignore all future advice from me ( I doubt I'll offer any anyway ) as I clearly don't know my arse from my elbow.

But you do know your arse from your ass---since you are British :P

Us Yanks, on the other hand, only know asses, not arses.

I think Joe is going to be okay.

I've stopped mostly, cause people here don't care about me anymore. Seems pointless to shar my feelings.

Exactly how I feel.
The humour doesn't help either.
Tried that.
Failed.
