Tired of people treating me like s**t
Are people just mean to each other, or am I an easy target and a pushover? Everywhere I go there is at least a few people that seem to enjoy torturing me by treating me bad. Tonight at the soup kitchen a crazy old guy I’m trying to avoid yelled that I was getting a big ass. No one seemed to care. Except an older lady said “yeah well you got a big mouth.” But she was laughing when she said it. The pastor at the other soup kitchen has been intimidating me again and I didn’t even do anything. She’s very judgemental. These are just two examples but it seems like everywhere I go there are bullies. One of these days I’m going to snap at someone who’s treating me bad and they are going to get an earful!! (There needs to be angrier emojis on this site.)
People don’t like dealing with the crazy old guy at all. He’s too much for people most of the time. And people have talked about the pastor saying she’s too strict and picks favourites. These are just some people I hate dealing with currently. I’m glad the other people that have treated me horribly are gone from my life now.

How often does this crazy old guy exhibit his antics?
Like every time he’s around people. He’s just resentful I’m not friends with him anymore. I couldn’t handle how toxic he is. And he wasn’t respectful to me from the get go.

That is a good way to look at it. That some people are just stupid.
I feel like that myself but others are wishing me gone these days.
How did you get stuck living in a redneck area?
I understand how you feel about how people are treating you. My class and my family make me feel a f***ing piece of s*** by excluding me and run away from my plans. I'm trying to ask people at school if they want to participate in the VBS activity but I keep blushing.

People tend to target others around them for verbal violence like that, it seems like they have a need to bully someone who happens to be around them. It's their issue.

You know, maybe you should take a break from going to that soup kitchen. Seems ridiculous since that should be a thing to help people and so so much drama behind the scenes seems kinda negative. But I mean something to think about the soup kitchen will continue and people can still go get a meal even if you don't continue going. I hate to encourage to just give up but if your experiences there are feeling really negative maybe it would be good to take a little break from it. And if you are really interested in doing things to help people perhaps you could find a more friendly place to contribute to outside that churches soup kitchen.

That’s a good idea sweetleaf. I have hardly been going to the soup kitchens lately anyway. If I have to go back for food, I’ll just mention it to the volunteers that the crazy old guy is harassing me. I really don’t want to deal with it though. Best to just avoid for now. I might start volunteering for an old folks meetup soon. What I’d really like to volunteer for is something that helps the environment though. The only thing that I found to do like that close to where I live is highway cleanup. But I’ve seen the gross things people throw out their car windows and don’t want to touch that stuff.
It is totally okay for you to be a Highly Sensitive Person. About 15-20% of people in the world are highly sensitive people. I feel upset that crying isn't allowed in High School. I am just too sensitive to not cry. The world would be a better place if the older person got everything first and then, I would feel less desperate. My parents are so disgusting. I wish the DMV would go easier on me about the Permit Test. Luckily, I only have to wait less than a year to get my license.
One thing you shouldn't say to a Highly Sensitive Person is, "You need some thick skin, baby, suck it up." This comes from the song, "Bed- Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande."

I am highly sensitive that way (and ASD), as well as my son (NT). As an aside: My (NT) husband and (ASD) daughter don't appear to give a flying F what others think. If I am "too" sensitive, then surely they are "too" insensitive that way. What is this attribute that has people regard or disregard others?
It's interesting to see my 7yo child navigate this: "Mom, I try so hard to be kind and helpful but most people are mean." We've been talking about him finding at least one friend who's kind and helpful like he is. An ally if you will.
I recently had a retail clerk who was nasty and I've been thinking about how I might have handled it. I really like my fantasy option.
* What happened: The retail clerk was impatient, scolded me and moved on to the next person in line. I became choked up and fairly non-functional. The cashier gave me my items for free and a coupon for free items my next visit (I haven't been back)
* My fantasy: "Wow, you are a complete ****. Is there someone else who can help me?"
* Perhaps a more reasonable solution: "I'm sorry you are having a bad day; is there someone else who could help me?"
I would love to tell my sister, my mom, even my dad exactly how I feel. I accepted being the scapegoat in the family. There is the fantasy that life is so great for me and so they can take things out on me. Weird, eh? I am trying to give them a glimpse of what life is like for me while not EXPLODING (in grief, in anger) with it all.
On one hand "they" say being direct is inappropriate, on the other hand "they" say passive (aggressiveness) is also. I'm supposed to modulate and show my emotions. Phooey.
Good luck.
