Slice the cucumber thinly. It can look quite pretty if this is done at a 45 degree angle. Also, using a gouge down the length, before you start, will give that pretty "crinkly" effect.
Take the tomatoes next. These should be quickly blanched, to make it easy to remove the skins. Call them Henry - they like that.
