My OCD which has gradually been getting worse is severely acting up rite now. I keep rereading a lot of my old post, comupo0lsively checking my email & checking other things. I feel anxious & I get jittery if I try to stop myself. I don't want to try forcing myself to stop now because I'm worried it will trigger a panic-attack. I'm still taking Buspar for my anxiety like I have been for the last 4 or 5 months & my anxiety in general is better & I haven't really had any panic attacks but my OCD started gradually getting worse the last month or so. I'm not sure why it suddenly started getting worse but I feel majorly dysfunctional rite now. It's slightly starting to get better than it was a little while ago & I'm hoping a long warm shower will help me relax but I cant risk stopping rite now

Screw OCD. I don't get the point of it; all it does is make us miserable.
I'm doing better, but six or seven months ago I was in a horrible state regarding OCD...

What helped you get better :?: I'm feeling a little better ATM & may go take that shower very soon but not sure

It's different for everyone, I think, and it depends on the symptoms you're experiencing.
Mine were many intrusive and unwanted (often disturbing) thoughts. I saw a technique online that I practiced and made me feel kind of better: when the thoughts come up, don't push them away. Think them all the way through; let them run their course. Once I started doing that--no matter how unpleasant the thoughts were--I started noticing them pop up less and less.
In June or July of last year, I would lay awake for hours wondering why I had these thoughts and if it made me a bad person or whatever, but I googled the "obsession" I was experiencing and found so many forum posts and Q&A posts on sites. That really helped me realize I wasn't alone with it. I soon joined an OCD forum and read a lot of stuff people wrote and I found a lot of it helpful. I went to the psychiatrist a few weeks ago (yeah, about six months too late) and she put me on Prozac and took me off citalopram, but it's not helping; I think I'll go back and we'll figure out another medication combo. Like I said, I'm doing better, but the OCD won't go away; the symptoms can be treated (and have been, sort of.) I don't know too much about OCD, so I apologize if this doesn't make much sense.
I've also taken supplements and I've found them to be helpful. Exercise is really good, too.

I really hope your symptoms get better! They can; you just have to find what works for you. :)

It's beautiful outside my window. Green grass and trees and flowers. Some leftover autumn leaves, cherry blossoms are in bloom. And the sun is shining :D

I'm OK now. I took that shower, watched a couple eps of American Dad while washing dishes, started my laundry, & zoned out a bit. I made a post in the Bipolar & Other Conditions section http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt189022.html
Thanx for listening :) & I really hope you can find the rite med combo

I hope my Girl With the Dragon Tattoo book comes in the mail today. My mom works a long shift and that would help distract me so I don't feel sad about it.
