I found a rock in my front yard that I don't recognize. The closest thing I can find online is agatized coral but that doesn't seem to occur naturally in Central Alabama. I can't access photo-sharing websites at work so I can't post a photo of it. :x

Any rockhounds here who would be willing to get in touch?

You'll simply have to wait and post a pic. (Unless someone is an expert on rocks commonly found in Central Alabama USA.)

Is there a university near you with a geology department? They would most likely love to look at it.My daughter dated a geology student and he was great about looking at my rock collection and was full of info.
