What was your favorite children's book?
I more specifically am referring to picture books.

Mine was the children's book adaption of Moby Dick. I loved the part when the whale killed everyone, which yes, there was a picture of, and yes, there was blood.

the first harry potter book will always be my favourite children's book. i found it so interesting that i read it more times than i can remember. The other 6 books that followed all became my favourites as well.

I don't do as much reading now as i used to. but those books will always be fond memories for me

I had a 1979 Spiderman annual which I loved and an encyclopedia picture book



I preferred book cassettes

I loved the Sesame Street Library books so much, that an employee from a library I got them at let me keep them. I also loved Sweet Pickles and the Berenstain Bears.

One of my favorites is The Grannyman, about an older Siamese cat and his kitten friend.

I have lots of favourite books I read as a child. I loved (and still do now) the Kitty books by Bell Mooney, although most of you probably have never heard of them, but I could relate to the little girl in the stories, sometimes I even wondered if she had Asperger's or ADHD.

There are some books I liked when I was really little, but I cannot for the life of me remember what they were called. One of them was a nursery rhyme book with buttons on the side to press and it played the tune of the rhymes that were in the book, probably like a sing-along type book. Another book I liked was one with preschool poems and you lift up the flaps on each page, probably a learning sort of book. But I can't remember what that was called either, so it's no good trying to find these lovely books online.

I also remember this book that came with these animal shapes with a cling sort of material to temporarily stick them on to the pages. There was 5 unbendable pages, each with a different scene, and you place the animals in the right scenes (for example, foxes belonged in the forest scene, lions belonged in the jungle seen, bees belonged in the garden scene, etc). I used to have lots of fun with this book and it would keep me occupied if I brought it on long car journeys. I do not know what happened to this book but I would love to buy it again, but again I can't remember the actual name of it and when I describe it in Google it doesn't come up.

I loved the Curious George books and Beatrix Potter's stories. I also liked a series about a penguin named Tacky, who had five perfect sisters, but could never get things right.

If I had to pick one of these as my sentimental favourite it would probably be Here's A Penny

My favorite books were about cats, particularly Siamese cats.

When I was a little girl, I loved a German book called Siamkatze, German for Siamese cat.

When I was in second grade, I loved a book called Mr. Blue, about a Siamese cat.

Did anybody else like Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark?

The artwork was awfully morbid and disturbing for a children's book. That's exactly why I loved it as a kid.

I never heard of Scary stories to tell in the dark until a few years ago when I stumbled across the audiobook on YouTube, and I was surprised when I found out it was a children's book. Some of those stories are scarier than some of the creepypastas.
