Other then what I just read, i never knew such a book existed. I was brought up Catholic, and so my only book id swear by is the Bible.

oh, I am glad to see the Urantia Book is still around! We used to have a copy and read it in family meetings ( our communal family, not my birth family!)

We used to leave it by the door and chat with door to door missionaries about it. . .we would invite JWs and Mormons in and have tea and listen to the Book of Mormon and then whip it out for reciprocal reading.
the Jehovah's Witnesses were horrified, but the Mormons were very open minded!

Well, the Mormons liked the ideas in it, since Moroni in the Book of Mormon was like the angels in the Book of Urantia. .

It just seems to be another religious text, nothing special. Then again I don't have a religious bone in my body.

It would be great relaxed sitting by a campfire listening to the wolves howl at the full moon as a pot beans is cooking to thumb through that book and then toss it on the fire to finish cooking my beans.

My belief system most closely matches that of buddhism. IT interests me a great deal too... but I am damn lazy when it comes to learning more. Has to be the right time... I am praying that it becomes an obsession then I shall have no excuse to not learn more, but I think the Tao Te Ching is just incredible, the meaning behind the words are very enlightening. Gospel Of St Thomas is the only Bible related text I will read because it is unlike the rest of the bible and isn't acknowledged or accepted by the Catholics as legitimate because it basically says that God is everywhere and in everything and not in buildings and churches. :)

how about this song?

Emperor - thus spake the nite spirit

Grael, those excluded books from the bible are probably more true than any book in there right now, i think i read somewhere that the reason they started out with 4 atleast in the new testement is because of the 4 winds of the earth. Easten religion is much more peaceful i think :)
