I was just wondering about this.

How come people of higher authorities think that younger people are going to live longer than most of the older people who are alive right now!

For example, how come most of the TV we see now adays is modern classic TV that is re-run into the ground?

Sure, none of this TV is bad but where is more of the shows like "I Love Lucy" when we need them!

I'm sure a lot of younger people watched "I Love Lucy" and miss it!

I don't think the young people of today find stuff like Lucy entertaining nor do they relate to it as life has changed dramatically since the show was made. I work with lots of 18-23 yr olds and they actually don't seem to watch much tv. They watch action movies and play video games. There was also a lot of prejudice displayed on the older shows that people just don't care to see.

I think it is true tv viewership is declining. I actually know a number of people who are well off finanacially, but they don't choose to have cable or satellite tv or no tv at all. The ones with a tv set but no cable just subscribe to Netflicks and rent dvds all the time. The couple I know without a set choose that so they would spend more quality time together.

I remember in the 70's & 80's all the articles about kids spending too much time in front of the tv. But at least there was something to watch then! I think for the most part if people are in front of the tv they are watching dvds or playing games or sports. Syndicated tv is plain crap these days. I don't understand all the real life shows, sorry at the moment the correct name escapes me, but those crap shows about dating millionaires or survivor. Its all about the perfect skinny b*tch blondes, muscle clad guys and putting down the nerdier opponents. The only exception is I like that guy Bear Gryllis on Man vs Wild and also The Deadliest Catch.

Otherwise the only other new shows I like is LOST. I used to like Invasion and Surface, but I haven't found them on tv in over a year so I don't know if they got canceled or what. Other than that I love the reruns of MASH, Seinfeld, Will & Grace & X-Files. Loved Northern Exposure when that was on. I loved that show so much.

Here's something that may make a few of you younger ones chuckle. I want to see the old Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys Mystery Hour be re-run. I don't understand why the re-runs haven't been on tv since the 1970's. That show was HUGE back then. Also I'd like to see Dark Shadows re-run and also that show with Mrs Bealsey and Dody.

I hear the younger people talk about mostly video games and antimae stuff which I am totally clueless about. They practically are speaking a different language. Oh they do the Internet thing alot, but they discuss Facebook alot which sorry, but I think it is the dumbest, vainest thing I have heard of. Come on, the average person's life is honestly just not that interesting.

How I interpret this question is that it is predicted that young people today will have longer life spans than the old people now living. From what I have heard lately, those who track these demographics seem to think that today's young people will actually have shorter lifespans than the old people alive today, because of obesity, diabetes, ect.

Shows I like:
My Name Is Earl
Rescue Me
The Shield
Lost
Invasion ( sorry...canceled)
Surface ( sorry...canceled)
KyleXY
The Riches
Family Guy
Robot Chicken
American Dad
Futurama ( why they canceled this and kept the Simpsons???)
Tripping the Rift
Old shows I liked were The Munsters, The Adams Family, Mash, and going way back, My Little Margie, Rin Tin Tin, Lassie, Sea Hunt, Topper, anything with cowboys.
I quit watching Malcolm in the Middle because the mother was a sadistic shrew and it made my skin crawl the way she tried to manipulate and undercut her sons. This was unfortunate, because otherwise it was a great show.
Oh, Deadwood! The Sopranos!
Love John from Cincinnati even though it doesn't make alot of sense. The Shakespearian like silloquies the actors engage in are very entertaining, even though the plot (Plot? We don't need no stinkin' plot!) is non existant.
