My boyfriend keeps calling it "Safeways" and then one day I found out why. There is the "S" logo at the end. It had occurred to me he saw the name and thought it was "safeways" and maybe he had never shopped at Safeway as a kid so how would he know the name if he has never heard it being said.


The reason I knew was because my parents shopped there (still do), they said the name of it, so that's how I knew.

It might just be a regional accent. I've encountered people who call walmart "walmarts"

i have a tendency to add s's to places that don't even have an s. it's rather bothersome to me.

my safeways was robbed by waitrose! (heh, kinda funny, its almost an anogramme). anywho. loved that store. sold really good stuff at a reasonable price. waitrose is mutch more expensive -_-. sorry, iv been needing to share that for years so i thought id rob your thread ^^. anywho. i didn't tend to bother too mutch about how it was pronounced. i think most of my family called it "Safeways". i'd find it hard to say "im going to safeway". i would even say "tescos". although i wouldn't say "asdas" oddly enough
