with the following conditions


1) You believe the subject of the protest should be protested
2) Nothing harmful is happening at the protest
3) The group organizing the protest initially started protesting this group solely as a way to cause trouble for the group and not out of any moral standing. later those who had moral reasons joined with the group for the regular protests,but the trouble making group is still the one in charge of arranging them
4) The group organizing the protest has a several year history of attacking people for no other reason than to cause problems and still carries out some of those problematic harassments from time to time on other groups
5) there is no official membership for this group, anyone can join/leave at any time.


Why or why not?

Why, what for? Normal people don’t do things without reason. Are they crazy?

From the information you provided as of yet my answer would be no. I think they are insane.

typically internet griefer attacks - crashing webservers,hacking into sites (ie if they targeted wrongplanet they could have changed the mainpage to insult people with autism) flooding forums, computer viruses, but one on a website for disabled people did produce physical harm and could have even result in the death of the victims

I went on a political demonstration in my student days. While it did have a serious side, it was also sort of fun - and I think a lot of others on the march took part for the entertainment value. Here in France it is a way of life. Every week there are crowds demonstrating and protesting about something. It seems to be a cultural thing. If the price of a baguette goes up by a centime millions take to the streets - well perhaps not that bad, but they do love to demonstrate.

Public demonstrations seem largely pointless. I mean, when a dozen people gather in a circle somewhere in California to protest China's treatment of Tibet, which Tibetian monk is really going to benefit? When a thousand or so people gather outside a soundproof building to chant slogans in protest of the business practices of the people inside the building, what decisions are really affected? When a few hundred UAW workers gather outside the gates of a closed auto plant in Michigan to protest NAFTA, whose mind in Washington, D.C. gets changed?

I don't know, it forced the U.S. congress to cut the budget to the Vietnam War. But that was a long time ago when there were a lot more protesters.



Don’t sell yourself short. Here in the U.S. there are millions of people without health insurance of any kind while France’s health coverage is the envy of the world.

I'm asking a friend and I have two very different opinions of this. It can sort of be summed up like this

Opinion A:
Going is support the group organizing the protest which is similar to supporting their harassment of innocent people

Opinion B:

Going only supports the protests. You can attend, support the group at the protest, and be against the group for their harassment activities when they are harassing the innocent
