Here's a couple of past ones..

1) Over 600 Wood Cigar Boxes (got rid of these after I stopped smoking years ago).

2) Lists of palindromes (words that are spelled the same backwards and forwards, i.e. "noon") and palindrome sentences (Sums are not set as a test on Erasmus).

3) Mechanical pencils

Nothing really weird right now, but at one time in the past I collected Ketchup bottles. People would come by the apartment and think I was really weird.

Hmmm...3d Art, and modeling (I use Wings 3d, and something called Topmod, which makes topological object files...both free...

collect pictures from various sites, probably have about 20,000 or more over 6 years. Only about 500 are mine...

I am an over the top "Crazy Cat Lady."

Children's literature and Asperger's Syndrome have pretty much taken over my life.

Unfortunately, no one else I know is really interested in either.

seriously, my 'weird' hobby is, whenever a particular book or movie has a powerful impact on me, I make it a habit to collect as many different printings/releasings as possible. For instance, I have like 7 different copies of the novel "Bambi" by Felix Salten, all but one of them printed in 1928-9. I also have 4 different video releases of the silent masterpiece "Metropolis" by Fritz Lang. It's like...whenever I see a copy of that book or movie that I don't have before, I feel I have to buy it.

"Compulsive tinkerer"...that about sums it up.

In short...don't give me access to tools and anything that can be taken apart.

Last year it was broken game consoles and dvd players...before that vacuum cleaners and mowers.

Friend gave me their broken digital camera recently...tore it apart, fixed it and gave it back...now I need a couple more to feed the need.

I sew socks into the shapes of animals.
I collect feral, mismatched, often damaged and naked Raggedy Anne and Andy dolls.
I also have a clown collection (must be homemade or vintage)
A crocheted animal collection....
Homemade toys in general...I have collected and have been interested in since I was a child.

Yes I do have a strange habit - I never really thought about it until now, but I must admit it's a slight problem:

I like to drive around for hours with absolutely no intention of going anywhere!

Putting aside the major issues on the prices of fuel, this is also a huge problem because it's starting to become an addiction (like smoking, and I am a smoker). I can control it if I want to though I think.

Weird? Define weird.


Politics, world news, history, etymology, anthropology...and so on. I don't know about you, but I find my hobbies rather normal.


I can tell you what caused certain world-changing events, the years, parallels, the people and their origins, etc...but ask me for my brother's birth-date or for a person's name and I will begin to stutter. Typical question is asking me for my age: "I don't know...21? 2? Uhh....no wait...23...I think. When was September?"

I collect plastic rats, plastic spiders, and plastic snakes. I enjoy taking pictures of signs.
