I just wish we really were on a different planet from
NTs. They are so totally opposite

In China we don't have a common topic like that, but we have similar topics. Old people like to ask you about your family. Young people just ask you your hobbies. And parents always ask you "how is school going" when you get home.

But at least those make sense. It's natural for parents to wonder how their kids are doing in school, and it makes sense to ask what someone's hobbies are, in order to learn if you have some in common, which could make for something else to talk about or do together.

I saw an American lady on TV talking about her business dealings with some Sheiks from the Persian Gulf (Dubai or some such place). She said "I told them I was from New Jersy, and the first thing they said was 'how is the grazing in New Jersey?'. And I replied that 'the grazing is fine in New Jersey'".

These filthy rich oil sheiks are all only one or two generations removed from being desert herdsmen. So I guess that's their equivalent of "how is the weather?". But it still cracks me up trying to visualize "good grazing" in New Jersy: herds of goats and camels wandering around Atlantic city. Well...Jersey does have diary farms, and some free range livestock. So maybe I shouldn't laugh. But I guess to an outsider the local small talk always sounds ridiculous. :D

I don't even find that ridiculous or weird given the explanation. I actually find it charming :)

Where I live now the grazing's very good, I can see goats and sheep grazing from where I'm sitting.
But where I'm from it's "how are you diddling?"... to which I believe the answer is "I'm diddling fine."
... what do I know anyway...

One completely inexplicable bug/feature that NT's have, and one that really, really annoys me, is how they don't seem to understand the very basic and important difference between complaining about something and simply stating a fact. For most of my life I've had people ask me, "Why are you complaining?", which always left me completely puzzled because I was simply making an observation! I've even had to attempt to explain the difference between the two, using very basic language, how (for example) simply stating that a certain inanimate object looks asymmetrical isn't the same thing as wishing it were otherwise.

"I want your honest opinion". Ugh! No, you DON'T want an honest opinion, you just want me to agree with you! It's not the same thing! How can they not see this? What is wrong with these people? How did we end up sharing the same planet with them? Was it just some giant, cosmic mistake?

YES YES YES YES YES I COMPLETELY IDENTIFY WITH THE FIRST PARAGRAPH!!.! ! That is my life story, or one of the major ones.

As for the last paragraph, aspies are all like this too, including the ones who go out of their way to prove it, but they like to think they are superior to NTs.

Most people promise something and then fail to keep a promise. At work sometimes i should estimate time, how long I will do some work. I struggle with this, because I can't know it and I don't like failing to keep a promise.

I am not able talk, when talk someone other. I can't listen when more people talk or when I hear other noise like in bus. For me is too weird, when more people talk at same time and they don't have problems with this.

Nobody can really do that. It's just a theater.

With regards to "weather talk," I see everyone's points, but much like "how are you" or "what's up," people just say it to me when they're walking past me. Obviously, they're not trying to start a friendship/relationship. And I just find it such a dry topic (no pun intended). And unless you're an EXPERT on the subject. there's not that many different things you can say.

I have actually taken to just replying 'hi' to it. One person took offense at that! So far it has spared me from having to hear the question again 8)

I do that all the time and have never noticed anyone offended.

In regards to talking about the weather, the difference is that in England the weather is actually an interesting topic of conversation. We have different weather patterns coming at us from all directions so our weather is varied and unpredictable. It also gives people a foundation to talk about their experiences, like what they did when it snowed.

What I find weird about neurotypicals:

-The amount of 'teasing' they often subject their contemporaries to (I guess sarcasm and teasing that is 'friendly' is something alot of NTs use in friendships for reasons still unknown to me.)

-Trends. I do not think I need to say any more about that!

-The obsession with physical appearance

-Small talk. I think this one also speaks for itself. Gosh, there is nothing I hate more than pointless chatter, aka, small talk!

-Not liking cartoons or anime/thinking animation is for children UNLESS it is disney (I love cartoons and anime and I don't think age has anything to do with how great they are!)

..the high NT rate of participation in gossip, both the idle and the malicious kinds, and their apparent enjoyment in it seems weird to me. I know that some never engage in it, and kudos to the NTs who don't. You are the kind I like best!!

I would love being in the UK with all the wild weather patterns and endless places to enjoy tea. Most of all, I'd like to see our UK posters.

Gossip? People's lives are not that interesting to me. I'm not a noble person for not participating in chatter about other people. I just don't care.

One thing that comes to mind is night clubs and the like, spending hours in a packed room full if gyrating people and blaring music. To me that would be like being in hell.

You mean, being hellish is not the whole point of those places?
