I think it's just that everything we have to learn is strictly him talking. Yes, I wound up dropping it.
I don't think it's one of those things where I just can't learn it, moreso that I just need to find a way TO learn it. Some of the information really does peak my interest, but I lose it almost immediately. So there is little hope in retaining it, at least this way. It of course doesn't help that he is super quiet and stands in the same spot all hour, lol-he hardly moves.
It will be nice to get the assessment done for learning disabilities-that will hopefully help a lot
I'm pretty sure I can learn it, but I have NEVER done well in History class... this problem goes back to 2nd grade, lol. I can recall events alright, but it's dates, names, etc. that lose me in the process-making those connections is impossible for me it seems.

Sorry for the long post...
I'm my own guinea pig.
I had to drop a class twice, and one time an entire semester. I learned through trial and error that sometimes it's best to take the little hit (dropping a course) in the grand scheme of things. The entire semester withdrawal came when I decided I didn't want to miss two days of class for bronchitis...ended up with pneumonia and was too sick to leave my apartment to check the mail much less attend class. It's all about pacing yourself. After 4 years on campus, several years of getting married and having babies and moving to another state, and an additional year and a half of Distance Education classes since, I'm finally ready to graduate in a couple of months. Studying with two kids is HARD! Don't feel too terrible about the history class. Sometimes a different timing, a different prof, a fresher set of eyes can make all the difference. Kudos to you for working at this!

I dropped one class during my college career, a computer science class. I was not just in over my head, but also hopelessly out of my league. For the sake of my G.P.A., I had to drop the class. Good luck to you. I hope you can get help to catch up. If not, dropping the course would probably be the right course of action. You don't want to sacrifice the classes in which you are doing well.
