Honestly I am neither but I believe everyone else is inferior to me and that their opinions don't matter.

If I were you I would be concerned about my state of mind, because this is how narcissistic psychopaths perceive the world.

I am neither Narcissistic people need others to be impressed by them I am not. I am not a psychopath either because I really care about animals, the mentally disabled and children.

You say you care, but you consider them all inferior to you. That's a really unhealthy mindset with which to approach the rest of the world. It's setting you up for failure in all your social interactions before they even begin. No one likes a person who thinks they are better than everyone else they encounter. Add to that on a purely logical basis there is no way you are superior to all other people, so your approach is fundamentally flawed on several levels.

I don't come across as arrogant I am very polite and treat people with respect.

I definitely get offended. I get really upset if people criticize me for or show they have noticed the things I really don't like about myself. Like if they call me "mute" or tell me I panic too much and need to learn to deal with things, or if they tell me I need to "contribute more". Or if they get annoyed with me because I forget stuff. Brings up all the self-criticism I already have and lets me know these things are obvious and I'm not doing a good job of covering them.

If someone criticizes me for something I don't care about, or something I actually like about myself, like the clothes I'm wearing or my body shape or the fact I'm childlike or whatever, then I really don't care. So it depends whether the criticism reinforces my own negative self-beliefs or not.

I find it very difficult to believe that you both feel superior to everyone and manage to treat them with respect at the same time. But it doesn't matter what I believe if you are determined to continue feeling superior to everyone, that's what you're going to do. So good luck with that.

You may however wish to notice I'm not the only person who pointed out that this is not really an appropriate way to interact with others and take that into consideration.

A lot of people seem to have taken offence by Daniels superiority complex.

Anyone that calls others inferior must also be inferior. And by that I must be inferior as well. Anyone want to join me?

Do we have a "post of the week" on this forum? If so, I nominate this one...

I do get offended. Here are some of the things that offend me:

- Sweeping generalizations about a group of people, whether a societal group (like disabled people) or a physical group (like the members of a team I'm in)
- People judging each other for things like being "weird" or communicating differently
- People making negative assumptions about others without evidence
- People who judge others for bad spelling/grammar, not knowing something, etc.
- Patronizing or insulting attitudes toward intellectually disabled people
- People who judge others for their tastes in music, books, etc.
- Dehumanization, aka implying that certain people are not unique and complex individuals
- Harsh and/or untrue criticism directed at me

sometimes I don't really care at all and are borderline apathic about it. Other times I care alot and are extremely sensitive about it sometimes I'm in between the two scales :? I can still feel offended espeically when it's true. THough even on those days where everything offends me. like if someone says an extremely generic insult it won't even hurt. cause it's like cmon plz come up with a better insult.

I bet you'd be a barrel of laughs to get stuck in a lift with.

How is it a "post of the week"?

None of the folks who took offense at that ever claimed that they "never get offended".
So how is Bird's praising them for the obvious: that they are all being consistent, a "post of the week"?

Okay.

Maybe I got a nibble, but no one really took the bait. Oh well. Lol!
