It's a great plot point.

Basically these hyper-intelligent pan-dimension beings build a supercomputer to calculate The Answer, to Life, The Universe, and Everything. After two and a half million years, it finishes it's calculations, which winds up being...

42

Outraged, the beings ask why it's so ridiculous, and the computer responds (in the movie), "You can't know the answer if you don't know what the question means." A later book has the Ultimate Answer as being "What is Six times Seven?". Funny how life works!

Anyways, yeah, 42.

I believe the question was actually "What is six times nine?", which just explains everything you need to know about the universe.

It's how my previous avatars looked like 8)

I decided that time needed for writing 100 posts would be time when I'd have only one avatar. Every time I have the next 100 new posts written I change an avatar looking for something interesting.

ive kept my original and have always on other websites, (tho i only belong to 2 text boards), wrong planet and an autism site for parents of Dx'ed children, as i try to give help and advice.

Yes, i pay more attention and remember who ppl r better with a pic then their actual name. Kinda weird cause in real life Im better with names then faces.

heh

The avatar I use is the same one I use on two out of three other forums that I am a member of.
The third forum allows image signatures.
What I might do is keep my avatar constant but devise a collage signature that evolves as my interests evolve.
The actual collage will be kept at an image site but the only thing that appears in the signature space is the link.
The "pseudo-signature" below is an example:

All I said it was an NT trait. I have NT traits myself, we all do. It's impossible to be 100 percent aspie.

Don't take this personally, but I want to kill you.

I want to gouge out your eyes and force feed them to you, rip out your intestines and strangle you with them, break all your limbs and tie them in knots.

That is all. :D

likedcalico, you should change your avatar right away, so he cannot find you! :P

Me too, I have used two themes when changing them, a green/blue alien or character and the current one related to the same actor/tv series. I am planning to stick with this one, I hope :)

I agree. A lot of pictures in signatures get too distracting when you want to read people's posts.

But Time, you don't even have an avatar. I don't get it. Am I missing something?

Anyway, perhaps you can use avatar-changing as some sort of diagnostic criteria. A person who keeps the same avatar forever is the kind of person you like - they're stable, etc. Whereas those of us who change em up are not on your list of best friends -we're too messy or something.

I can barely keep my personality in check from hour to hour, let alone hang on to one picture for more than a week (off I go to sort through the pix on my computer...)

lol, lol, & lol

I get bored of my avatar. And I hate boredom. So I change it.

I always use the same name, though. I remember once I started using a different name in chat and people REALLY didn't like that! :)
